Well it is 4:30 here...I guess when one gets up around 3:30 to 4:00 on most work days for so long...it gets to be a bad habit when you CAN sleep in...if you only could....sigh...

picking son and dil up at the airport and getting home last night at 11:30 is not going to help my wanting to snooze/nap when we have our immediate family Christmas gathering today!

Thumbs down Squirrels

Speaking of "o no" - the squirrels got into my DW's bird feeder.

Again.

This sends her up the wall - into serious fighting mode.

Probably half this family's disposable income goes into pie pans, stove pipes, wire mesh and other gadgetry to battle the squirrels.

And they always come back.

Doesn't feel so secure on top of the pecking order when you watch the tenacity of squirrels.

Now that's some serious squirrels.

[Picturing my DW having a coronary if her squirrels tried that.]

Well that would be an improvement over the squirrels in our neighborhood this year. Squirrel(s) chewed their way into the "attic" near the top of the two-story chimney and moved in. Over $500 later, one had been trapped humanely and removed. After a couple days of silence, the trapper sealed off the entrances. A few days later we discovered for sure that there had been TWO squirrels as the other one was trying to find a way out. We (the trapper and DH) ended up cutting a hole in the wall to remove the second squirrel. If I ever liked squirrels, I don't anymore!!!
