Default How much food does Santa eat to be that fat?

How much food does Santa eat to be that fat? And shouldn't we in this day and age have shows with skinny santas as role models?

Actually, I read an article last year about a lot of stores hiring skinnier santas, and the controversy that ensued (lots of overweight guys who had been santas for years weren't hired back).

"Eat, eat! No one likes a skinny Santa!"

Quotes from my favorite Christmas special aside, I kind of dig the Palm Centro commercials that are running this season with Claus (can't do the accent on the 'u' here) - the skinny guy with the short hair and beard. He is kind of funky. "I used to keep this long sheet of parchment for my list, now it all fits right here" or something like that.

My husband looks like Santa Claus for real--in the face especially. Cute button nose, round & ruddy cheeks, twinkly eyes, bushy (beautiful) beard that is going white now. Of course, he's been obese for a long time and is lately losing a lot of weight due to our new way of eating and exercise...so I guess Santa's slimming down

I love how in Rudolph, Santa is skinny right up until it's time to take off, then he's suddenly fat. He just gorged himself and gained 75 pounds in a half hour. Lol.

We have a family owned furniture store in our town that features a "skinny Santa". The owner is a really small dude, and he always dresses up like Santa, and does promotions for his store using that theme. Mention "the skinny Santa" to anyone in the county, they'll know exactly who you're talking about.

Hmmm... maybe with all the too-skinny 'role models' these days, a classic chubster like Mr Claus is good for society?

If christmas promotions were paired with an 'eating healthy' image this would be a different discussion, but chocolate etc are all a part of the xmas image/tradition. It would be good if santa could promote a 'fat and fit' image, at least.

I don't see that happening.

Hey, Santa has got to be in good shape to go up and down all of those chimneys and hand out all of those toys. Is it his fault he has millions of cookies to eat in one night?!

Good point! Plus, he doesn't walk or bike from house to house.... he sits on his sleigh. His reindeer must be super fit though...
