Default Crab Legs

We didn't got to Red Lobster last night as planned because it was PACKED!! So we ate a pita for supper instead.

I'm making crab tonight (for myself, dh hates crab). Crab legs were on sale... I bought frozen snow crab (2 lbs makes 4 meals for me).

Does anyone have any non traditional ways of making this (other than boiling)?

... SNOW CRAB !!! I am jealous of you ... so be sure to eat some for me too. I always have mine with BUTTER & LEMON at least that is the way that I eat them when we go to RED LOBSTER ... so I am sure that all will go well for you & be sure to let me know how they came out for you !!

I love crab!
For non-traditional, how about putting it in a curry with vegetables?

Oooh Curry! I've just recently started liking curry

I noticed that the legs were already seperated and it was slit down the middle (so the legs were easy to peel).

I was a little stumped. I didn't necessiarly want to boil them... so I tried something a little different (okay and a little fattening... but it IS my cheat night tonight lol).

I didn't have any lemon and I decided to just grab a few staple items and toss them together.

I used:

1/4 cup of butter
1 crushed garlic clove
1 tbsp dried parsley
1/4 tsp (approx) of salt
1/4 tsp (approx) fresly cracked pepper.

I defrosted the legs (8 medium legs)

In a large frying pan I melted the butter... and sauteed the garlic. Once it started bubbling, I tossed in the parsley, salt and pepper. Once the garlic was cooked through I tossed in the crab legs... mixed it around a bit and then let them simmer in the butter mixture for about 5 minutes (covered).

SOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo GOOOD!!!! OMG!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!!

This is DEFFINATELY a cheat dinner. But overall I didn't eat a lot of the butter. There was still at least 90 percent of it left once the crab was eaten.

I guess you could use olive oil in place of the butter... but I don't think it would be the same.
You don't want to use more than one clove of garlic, or else it'll drown out the crab flavor. I think this would be equally good with shrimp.

Oh yeah... and Mr. "I hate crab" actually LIKED IT! He ate a bit himself!

Wow! That sounds delicious! I usually make crab with a similar recipe that includes lots of butter and worchescher sauce... Oh wow, I'm so craving it now. :P
