I paid $3.19 a few days ago, but I know it's gone up since then. They said on the news today to hurry up and fill up today because all-time record high prices are expected for the coming season. Hurray
The one near my house is only $3.11 for some reason, which is odd since I live right off a major highway and am closer to the city than my office is (the $3.19 was out by my office).
Haven't Canadians always paid a bit more than us? Europeans, too. Not to say it's fair, but I think the increases are probably about the same percentage-wise.
What I don't get is why gas prices NEVER returned to "normal" amounts after Katrina. I understand why they spiked post-Katrina, but then it never got below $2 a gallon after that (not around here, anyway), whereas it had NEVER hit $2 before that. I know the war in Iraq is the excuse for everything now, but we should just now be complaining about gas prices going over $2.50 and getting closer to $3, not nearing or exceeding $4 or $5.
YEP 3.29 a gallon and i just had to be the lucky one to purchase a 1999 suburban which has all the upgrades 22 inch chrome rims AND drum roll please .......... a 52 gallon gas tank for those long trips (around 200 to fill up) ohh boy you know im doing back flips when im spending 120 a week on gas and thats only 15 miles one way to work and 15 back 5 days a week
I am buying a bus pass for 50 bucks a month the bus time is 45 mins tops from home to work so im gonna start busing it my DH doesnt like it but oh well at least through summer i can save us some money untill school start's back up for the kids anyways

We haven't seen anything under $3 for over a year or more. While I don't pay really close attention to it, I believe the current prices are $3.59/3.69/3.79 give or take .20.
$2.99 in my tiny town in Arizona.
It's gone up and I do think it will go up for the holiday weekend.
I only put $15 worth of gas in my car when I go to the tank. My car is pretty small and does good on gas (for being a 15 year old car)
plus I live about 4 miles from work and everywhere I need to go is 6 miles away or closer...so yeah, $15 will last me the week.
Plus the Doc's gas station offers a 5 cent discount when you pay cash, (so that comes out to something like 27 cents worth of free gas... not much but every bit helps. )
We live in the tri-state area, so gas varies quite a lot around here since we're dealing with 3 different states within 10 minutes of each other. Its ranging between $3.18 to $3.49 right now.
I think I was at 3.79 for premium the other day, 3.51 for regular
Putting $53 in the minivan was sticker shock, but the thing has a huge tank, putting over $50 in dh's car floored me.
Some how the past week I've gotten stuck with all the fills. I had been driving the minivan instead of my car for awhile so filled that up ($50- Friday) then the NEXT day I took my car for the first time in 2 weeks and it was empty so filled that up ($45) then 2 days later I had dh's car for only a short bit, but the light came on so I filled it up ($51 - Mon) and he had driven the minivan out of town last weekend and I took it shopping out of town thursday and had to fill it again ($53 - thursday). So in 7 days I spent $200 on gas. Hopefully we are stocked up for a while now.
I did notice that for the first time in 20 years the difference between regular and premium is more than $0.20
just being doing some calcualtions- where I live in the UK the cheapest gas is £0.93 or $1.85 per litre!!. A couple of years ago it went up to the equivelant over $2 for a while. On top of that the Government want to bring in road pricing. this means being charged a tax per mile we drive, more busy roads will cost more.
I think we are at $3.18/gallon in this area now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Prius. I go about 400-440 miles on 8 gallons of gas when the weather is warm Plus the car just rules, all gas-mileage things aside.
Back down to $2.92 today. It's dropped .14 in the last week.
heh, ours has dropped as well--by a whopping $.02 Better than going up, I suppose.
We went out looking at some condos and townhomes this weekend (thinking of buying so we can stop renting), and the gas down where the townhomes are was only $2.99. We actually wrote "cheap gas" in our notes for those homes
