OH wow. I have had 3 VERY sucky Mom's days so far so I am setting my expectations low. No present, go out to brunch.

This is going to sound ungrateful of me, but here goes --

My husband has been "building" me a pearl necklace since my oldest was born (7 years ago). The kids give me 4 pearls to be strung with the rest I have -- every birthday, mother's day, valentine's day, Christmas, etc. It is a lovely thought and will be beautiful when done, but it kind of stinks to get the same present all the time......

DH will be taking me out to dinner on either the 11th or 12th because our anniversary is on the 14th. Usually he and the kids will give me a huge bouquet of flowers (with lilies--my favorite) and a handmade card. I don't need anything and there isn't anything in particular that I want (and if I do want something, I tend to just go and buy it for myself!). I refuse to go out to brunch on Mother's day because I hate the crowds, so I imagine the flowers will be it for me.

I usually get some kind of plant/bush that I can plant outside. Since I am not the best green thumb around, it works out well. Sometimes they live, but when they don't, there's always a need for a new one!

I want to save this gift and when I reach goal add up all my "saved" gifts and treat myself to a HUGE shopping spree. I'm talking the $2000 range...which is huge for me... Anyway, I know it sounds extremely self-centered and petty...but that's what I want.
