Default My mother is going to God

Momma has been going downhill for the last few years. However, in the last few weeks it has gotten worse. She is constantly falling. My sister had her transported to the hospital yesterday. She had called Momma's dr. Monday to tell him all that was going on with her. He's the one who wanted the ambulance transport and to meet them at the hospital. Her tremors have gotten bad. She can no longer feed herself. She didn't have these tremors a few weeks ago. She uses a walker (stroller type, not the manual pick up and move ones) and was shaking so badly that she tipped it over and fell. She's so unstable and is badly bruised.

My brother called me as well and said that she just has this wild eyed look about her.

It must be hard on her. Her sister (the 102 yr old one I posted about) passed a few months ago. Her brother (in his early 80s) has been diagnosed with Leukemia and is not responding well to treatment. She is facing her own mortality and probably feels so helpless.

I'm researching flights right now. It doesn't seem to matter what day I put in. Flights to Pensacola are running about $800 right now. I may just call the airline and get the emergency fare.

I'm sorry. I'm rambling.

cbmare, I'm so sorry. There's nothing we can really say that will help, I know, but I'm glad you posted this so we can all pray for you and your family.

Aw, Mare! What a tough time you all are having! My mom's older, too, and finds things increasingly difficult as well. It is very hard for older people to watch those they love die -especially brothers and sisters. My mom watched her brother and sister-in-law die as well as her husband (my dad) and said the other day that there's only one of her childhood platmates still alive. The friend turned 100 this past week. Everyone else has since died. My mom turned 95 in January.

None of us will live forever, but we are never ready to tell our loved ones good-bye.

My prayers go out tonight to you and your family. Special prayers are sent to your mom that she feels peace and love at this stressful time.

Mare so sorry to hear about your mum. I hope you're able to get to Pensacola and spend some time with her.
