I think my favorite baseball movie is "A League of Their Own". My fantasy baseball team is named the Rockford Peaches.

I also love Field of Dreams and I think Major League is great. I love the Bad News Bears movies. Sandlot is outstanding. The Natural is a classic! Yep...there's a ton of good stuff out there!

Congrats, royalsfan1!!! I see you're almost there. Just wear shorts and a tshirt to the next weigh-in for the extra 1/2lb and don't forget to put your purse down!!!

I also love A League of their Own. The end always makes me cry. Of course, I love any baseball movie. All of the ones mentioned.

5 more days!!!!!!

It's all in the name....I love the Sox. My 74 year old mother is going to Florida today and has tix to 2 games.

I can see Fenway out the window of my house and usually get to a bunch of games. Love it, love it, love it. Oh and living here I see players a lot. Once I played wiffle ball with Mike Timlin, John Olerud and their kids!!!

Every year I also go to Baltimore and try and get to at least 2 games, so much cheaper than going in Boston and a very cheap flight. The games usually have more Sox fans than Orioles!!!!

Red Sox fan: My DH and I have been to Tampa to see the Sox play the Tampa Bay Devil Rays (we live in SE GA..originally from MA). There are so many retirees from New England in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area that the crowd is probably 8 to 1 Sox fans Poor D-Rays! Getting a ticket to a game at Fenway is next to impossible! My nephew had a standing room ticket at the top of the Green Monster, and he had to sell it. I'm not sure how much he got, but it was probably $$$!

I just bought 4 sox tickets for Patriots (Marathon day). Face value $23, I paid $75...oh well it's fun.

I have a bunch of friends with season tix which is nice, plus since I live across the street from the park, I often get a last minute phone call saying "so and so can't make the game if you want to go"....it' great for me. Last year I got that call and was all sweaty from a run, so I threw on a sox hat and I went to the game just like that...I didn't care.

The one thing the Sox do which is nice is they save some tickets to be sold on the day of the game. Last year I got in line at 2, waited for 3 hours and got face value tix to a Yankees game. It's a pain but worth it if you want to go.

Ah, baseball movies!!! There's so many good ones to choose from. My favorites are "A League of Their Own" and "Little Big League." I've seen both so many times I think I could quote the entire movies. It's great!!!!

Redsoxgirl, I'm jealous. That would be neat to live that close to the ballpark. I'd have gone right after working out also if I had the chance.

Only a few more days!!!!! YAY!!!

I am so LOVING the new baseball avatars girls! The seasion is coming quick...I am still in MARCH MADNESS though with UCLA

Sports Illustrated picks MYDODGERS and MY ANGELS for the WORLD SERIES this year...with the ANGELS winning. That sure would be fun for me!!

I really am enjoying the stories here....I am sure there will be many more too.

I have been able to watch a couple of high school games (my old alma mater) lately. My nephew plays tennis for the high school, the courts are right next to the diamond, I can watch two sports almost at once! Kind of reminds me of watching my daughter's college tennis home matches. We stood on top of the athletic building, a deck, and looked down into the tennis courts on one side and onto the baseball field on the other. A real pretty picture, the baseball field, behind the outfield fence was the Pacific Ocean. I will see if I have any pictures in the computer, if I do I will post them.

Here is a picture of me and my daughter on the tennis court and the only picture i can find of the field. It is my daughter and son on top of the deck I was talking about, you can see the ocean behind the fence.

Clydegirl - I was still living in AZ last year and I had to work during the series. I was listening on the radio (I brought my satellite radio into work) though. When it got real heated during the last couple of innings, I called my DH at home and was screaming at him to turn the DVR (like Tivo) on. Like all good hubbies, he did. Now, I have the last couple of innings forever. It will hold me over until I can buy the box set.
I sooo wish I could go to the opening day festivities, but I have to work. At least I'll be home in time to watch the game!!!
Good luck to all of our favorite teams (but really, go cards ).

Oh my gosh....we're really coming down to the wire! I'm off to Kansas City on Sunday for the first week of baseball. Can't wait! I did miss out on Opening Day tickets...but I'll be there Wednesday and Thursday. I used to take my kids out of school and we'd go to the home opener but now that we live in Tennesse that is no longer possible. Makes me sad! Luckily, next week is their spring break week so for the first time in several years we'll be in town! I'm going to be a lot more diligent about tickets next year, if spring break is again so convenient, and get them back to opening day. I don't think there is a neater game (regular season, mind you, that's all we Royals fans can remember!). I'll post some pictures when we get home!

NewFannie it would be a great game to go to but probably sold out. I'll wait until a midweek game and try to get a ticket.

Good luck to everyones teams! Go Rockies!!!!

Gary that is a beautiful ballpark, and beautiful kids!

Thank-you CRAZYNETTE for the compliments, on my kids...wonder who their daddy is

I wish all of you the best as the season starts and so happy for you that are going to get in a few games!!

I was going to mention that don't you just hate the internet for ticket sales now! I went on-line the day individual tickets went on sale for the DOZDGERS and ANGELS, about 1 hour after the start and ALL the decent tickets were gone! AGAIN! Every year...I just hate the way the scalpers can buy them up. I know they get stuck with them too, but it just seems like the guy that just wants to take his family to one week-end game, against a decent team, doesn't have a fighting chance.
