Posing a question to see what people think

I was in a pool at work to see who could lose the most in February. I am going to lose. I only lost 4% which in all fairness was 20 pounds but won't touch the 6% that looks like it will win. But here is my question.

Question what would you all think if I started a website so that people could give me weight loss goals or per pound sponserships? It is an idea I got from several people and it has been suggested at work. I really want to take Kara on a honeymoon when we get married but with no roomate it is difficult enough just to make ends meet. Anyway post your comments on what you think. Maybe a stupid idea maybe not. I kind of like the goal oriented version.

The idea is people can give either realistic timed goals or a per pound for a set amount of time sponsership. Does the idea make sense? Are there people out there that would help? I know it would be a good way to drive me but would people be offended at the very thought of it? Let me know what you all think. I had planned to take Kara on a somewhat nice honeymoon but things haven't worked out that way. When my roommate moved out I couldn't find another one for such a short amount of time (6 to 8 months) and I really kind of relied on the money. So of course it is cheaper buying and cooking groceries all the time but the Sonoma food is more expensive than what I could make work for a week otherwise. Also our dates tend to be more cook something and relax then go out somewhere and do something or go to one of our Sonoma friendly restaurants that eats the wallet too.

What do y'all think?

Interesting idea! Well, we've actually seen people set up pages to raise money for boob jobs and honeymoons, so you never know  I think it may generate more interest than cold hard cash. But if you feel good about it and it helps motivate you to keep going, then that's all that counts in the end.

Congrats on your weight lost so far, you are doing great! :bravo:

It never hurts to ask.

I don't think strangers are going to open their wallets without a very good hook and a very compelling website.

3FC is a great resource for setting goals and getting (non-money) support in reaching them.

Best of luck to you.
