Burnett became known for her acting and talent, and for ending each show by tugging her ear, which was a message to the grandmother who had raised her to let her know that she was doing well and that she loved her.

I had to wiki Carol Burnett to figure out why the ear tug, Bargoo.

Whew ! The Jury selection is complete ! Wait a minute, why am I so happy ? I am on it. Don't think it will make national news but it is a criminal case and should last about two weeks.

I'm starting to think that Operator isn't the only one who needs classes.
Between Jury duty and 'variety shows', it looks like I should study basic law and search for & watch some 'classic' television to catch up with you all.

I hope the case is faster than usual, Bargoo, that way you can go back to your regularly scheduled programming...

Lately, I seem to be having a 1970's variety show flash back. One of my professors looks just like Soupy Sales. Then, I was in the computer lab, and the aide looked exactly like Nancy Kulp(Jane Hathaway from "The Beverly Hillbillies"), but with a Swedish accent instead of uptight, faux British. Seriously, even her hair style is the same and she is about the same age.

Suddenly, on Monday, I realized what had been getting to me about my Math Professor....He is Fred Rogers'(Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood) real baby boy that was switched at birth. That one took longer because it's not his appearance, but rather his voice tone and infliction, mannerisms and even outlook on life. Dude doesn't "get" the idea of sibling rivalry and why you would beat the living crap out of a family member(cause we are sworn enemies until at least the age of 30, der!!!) and says, "Fractions are our friends". Nooooooooooooo, fractions are a stupid holdover from a bygone era that are just unnecessary and it is inhumane and uncivilized to make kids and people my age learn them because, "We are America, dammit, and we don't care how they do it elsewhere even if it is better, easier and more effective!!!"

Now you'll have to Google a few more names, Zan.

Or she can call The Cisco Kid. Or for fun Sid Caesar. Or Milton Berle.

Batman and Robin may help.

Hey! We had an earthquake (only 5.0) and the dogs and I didn't notice it. We were doing pet therapy at the time and must have been doing a particularly great job. I know 5.0 is minor to you West Coast folks but it's a biggie around here. It even rattled dishes down at the diner. That'll give the diner farmer group something to talk about aside from crabbing about how hard it is to bale wet hay.

OH ! I can feel a 5.0 earthquake ! Just hope we don't have any while I am in that 6 floor courtroom. There are a ton of people in that building, it would be pandemonium with everybdy trying to get out.

Well, a shelf fell down in my laundry closet - probably during the quake. I discovered it this morning when I opened the door and "I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down" started up as the day's ear worm!

I knew Mr. Rogers and Hillbillies, but yeah. You guys so went over my head with the rest of those people! But I imagine that a frozen pie to the neck would hurt like heck! (Soupy Sales).

, nice "ear worm", Ruth!

Longest month of the year, I swear that June is!
Doesn't help that I've had a 'party' (of sorts) to attend the first three weekends! I wonder if I can sneak a break this weekend before the 4th of July hits...

It's a bit hard to concentrate with
"I feel the earth move under my feet I feel the sky tumbling down"
rumbling thru my brain.
