Baker's Secret Non-Stick Bakeware
I hope this is the correct forum for this question. Does anyone know why you aren't supposed to use vegetable oil sprays with the Baker's Secret non-stick pans? I have several of these pans and I hope I'm not ruining these. It doesn't make sense to me to make a non-stick pan and then you can't use a vegetable oil spray. When I bought my pans it says to grease and flour the pans. I don't want the added fat and I like the convenience of using the vegetable oil sprays. What does everyone use for bakeware?

Here is the response that EKCO (manufacturer of Baker's Secret) gives:
Vegetable cooking sprays are not recommended for use on EKCO Non-Stick bakeware. These sprays may leave residue on the pan even after proper washing. Overtime, this residue will hinder the non-stick performance of your pan. For best results, we recommend lightly greasing the pan with shortening, butter or margarine Tobey |
