Wraps! Help!

Morning All,

I'm a fan of sandwiches and bring them to work for lunch, this week I decided to try a wrap instead of using usual whole grain bread.

So last night I made my wrap. Chopped iceberg lettuce, shaved turkey breast, avocado, sliced tomato in a whole wheat wrap. I wrap it in clingfilm (saran wrap) and put it in the fridge. I make my lunches the night before due to going to the gym at 5am then straight to work.

I get to work and I'm taking my lunch, fruit etc. out of my bag and putting it n the fridge when, eeeewwww. The wrap gives a decidedly *squish* noise when I pick it up. Removing the clingfilm only confirms my fears. The outside of the wrap is covered in slimy liquid, juice maybe? :( . It goes straight in the garbage.

What did I do wrong? Should I have left the tomato out? I know in regular sammiches that tomatoes are the debil and tend to soak through the bread anyway. Are wraps best made in the morning? Any veteran wrap makers here that can help a sister out??!

I love wraps, but yes.. always add the veggies.. lettuce, pickles, tomatoes and perhaps even the avocado should be packed separately. I make wraps, freeze them and then take the veggies in a bowl or a baggie and assemble at lunch time. I pack my lunch the night before and as long as you keep things chilled and separate, it should be okay.

If I am taking things like burritos, I keep salsa and ff sour cream separate as well.

If, at the beginning of the week, you made little packages of all kinds of things ... it'd be like a smorgasbord every morning. I think today I'll have turkey, onion, tomato and green pepper!

That's a great idea Susan, not only would it be speedy, it could cure my boredom with what I eat, I'm a creature of habit and tend to do the same thing every day when it comes to my sammich.
