Default soft/liquid foods needed

Hello all! I'm new here but love what I've seen of the site so far. I'm not currently following any particualr diet plan, but trying to bring in bits an pieces of WW and other things I've tried in the past.
Here is my current dilemma: in a couple weeks I'll be having surgery on my mouth/throat. From what they tell me it can be a week or more before I'm back to eating solid food, and I'm also supposed to avoid anything with too much acid in it. In an attempt to not fall into the trap of living off of milkshakes - I'm trying to think ahead to what types of soft/liquid foods I should stock up on. I like the WW breakfast shakes, and obviously can do not-too-chunky soup and scrambled eggs. I'm not a big jello fan, unfortunately. But any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Obviously this will be a jump om my weight loss effort, but not exactly the way I wanted to do it!
Thanks in advance!

Cottage cheese and yogurt (low or no fat) might be good choices. Do you think you'd be able to handle scrambled eggs? I had a tooth out last ear and had a few meal of eggbeaters that I could eat and were pretty filling and tasty. Cooked squash is another option you might consider, there are various low fat recipes out there for it.

I'm a big fan of protein shakes. I should see if I can find you some threads about them.
One of my first thoughts when I read your post was kind of irreverent, I'm afraid .... you can puree almost anything. If it's cold we call it a smoothie or a shake .... if it's warm we call it soup

let me see if I can link you to those helpful threads.

I love fruit smoothies. Just use any fruit you like and add milk. Very filling.

What to eat after oral surgery?

We had this discussion a few weeks ago.

Try and balance your liquid meals, so you are getting a good mix of food and nutrients. I' definitely invest in a tin of protein powder. i get Body Fortress, which i have on good authority, you can buy at Walmart for around 412, I think. Being in England I can't quite qualify that, but that's what I heard.

Best of luck with your surgery. my mum had a 6 hour jaw reconstruction a few years ago, I left uni to go and cook for her. She was on liquids and puree for a month. She was a very difficult patient!

Default thanks

Thanks for all the ideas. I'll have to look into a protein shake mix. Unfortunately I don't like cottage cheese, but I think with the smoothies and a few other things like broth, etc, I should be able to get through the first few days until I can handle soft food like egg beaters, etc.
Thanks again!
