Default Anyone eat soy beans?

Does anyone here eat soy beans? I just recently tried some roasted soynuts and I really liked them to my surprise! Im curious if the soy beans are good and how you eat them? they come in a pod if im thinking right but do you eat the pod too? can you buy them at the grocery store and are they good for you or not? thanks in advance for any answers!! ~ Kimberly

I love soybeans and yes, they're very good for you! You can buy them in the pod frozen (I've never seen them fresh) or shelled. Shelled soybeans are called Edamame. Great stuff, sooooo yummy. You can also buy them canned.

They're very high in fiber and protein and good fats. Many of the Morningstar Farms and Boca foods are made from soy. I also love soy crisps.

Yes, edamame is very tasty. Nutritionally they are similar to other legumes such as kidney beans, lentils, navy beans, etc. So, in my program, 1/2 cup edamame beans count as 1 lean meat exchange (due to the protein content) and 1/2 starch exchange.

I've never tried raw/roasted soybeans, but I regularly eat soy products such as those that Morningstar Farms makes. I love Morningstar Farms.

I buy frozen edamame at Trader Joe's--they cook quickly and make a great dinner with a couple of side dishes.

There are lots of soy-based burgers and other fake "meats" out now--meatballs, baloney, ham, pretty much anything. Some can be high in salt if that's a concern for you.

Love soy beans and they are very good for you. Tofu is made from soy beans. So you are eating healthy protein.

Soy beans need to be cooked. I've usually seen edamame in the frozen foods. You just cook them, let them cool and eat them out of the pod. They're very good.
