Default Orange Julius Protein Shake

Looking for a super healthy after workout shake? Try this.

1/2 fresh orange (the sweeter the better)
1/4 Banana
1 heaping tablespoon favorite yogurt (I used cherry vanilla blue bunny)
3 big ice cubes
3/4-1 scoop vanilla protein powder (depending on your calorie/protein needs)
2 heaping teaspoons splenda or erythritol (I use the latter)
Enough water to allow blending.

Blend well until smooth and creamy. This really hit the spot tonight and my family really liked the flavor too. We all agreed it was an "orange julius" "jamba juice" type flavor--guilt free. My protein powder is cheapo costco "Pro-Rated" brand. I like it though.

This has everything going for an after workout shake. Some fruit carbs to rebuild your glycogen stores and some fast protein for muscle repair. I used about 70 cals worth of protein powder. So with the orange and banana the calorie count was only 160 calories or so! I didn't even miss milk!
