If you can't stomach anything in the morning - and I perfectly understand that - 80 calories is better than
NO calories.
'Training' myself to eat breakfast was one of the biggest things I had to conquer when I started my new lifestyle. I went years without ever eating breakfast, and there's a simple reason for that... I'm just not hungry in the morning. So when I began this little journey of mine, I had to literally FORCE myself to eat. But now that I'm used to eating breakfast, it's second-nature. I don't think twice about getting up and eating something within the hour. I always eat within one hour of getting out of bed. Scrambled egg whites, oatmeal, cream of wheat, a bowl of grits, a bowl of cold cereal, cottage cheese, turkey sausage, whatever I'm in the mood for. We purchase foods from Market Day and they have these little mini omelets that are wonderful. A folded egg omelet with reduced-fat cheese in the middle, only 60 calories.
However, I still have mornings where I just can't eat. In those cases, I always keep low sugar Slimfast and Carnation Instant Breakfast around so I can ingest SOME form of nutrition when I just don't feel like eating food.
