Whole Wheat Pasta

Hi. I'm new to this forum and have a question. If you use whole wheat pasta in a recipe that doesn't specify which kind to use, does this lower the number of WW points per serving?

Looking forward to being here.

I don't know what a WW point is but I always use whole wheat pasta.
Thing is, I'm not sure its lower in cals but your body will digest it differently than the other kinds of pasta and it has fiber so I would say, use the whole wheat just the same as the other pasta and just know its better for you.

WW considers fiber content as a factor in reducing the number of points a food has, right? It must be less, but I don't really know. I suggest you ask over in the 3FC Weight Watchers forums, cause they'd know: WW Food and Point Issues

Check it out with WW.

There are 2 types of fibre and the non-dietary sort has no nutritional value at all. WW will be able to tell you how to count the pasta, they will allow for non-dietary fibre so you don't have to guess at it!

I just haven't found a good tasting one yet - any ideas?

Usually, the whole wheat pasta is 1 point less per serving ...I haven't found one that I really like yet. Regurlar pasta is 4 points per cup (cooked), and most whole wheat pasta's are 3 per cup (cooked) ...the best thing to do is check the label, and use your 'points finder'.

I MUCH prefer WW pasta to the white stuff.... It's like comparing WW bread and white bread... When I mix the WW pasta with sauce in one big pan the kids don't even know they are eating the WW pasta... Maybe that's one way of getting used to it...
