I got this out of my 'Better Homes and Gardens, Healthy Family Cookbook'.
Ingred. *4 slices sourdough bread cut 1 inch thick *1/2 of an 8 oz package of light cream chesse, softened *3 tbs strawberry or raspberry fruit spread *2/3 cup skim milk *1 egg *1 egg white *1 tsp granulated sugar *1 tsp vanilla *1/2 tsp ground cinnamon *2 cups sliced strawberries *2 tbs powder sugar 1) Cut each bread slice in half crosswise. With a sharp knife, cut a horizontal slit in each half slice to make a pocket. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese and fruit spread. Stir until smooth. Spread 1/8th of the mixture inside each bread pocket. Pinch edges of bread together to hold filling. 2)In a shallow bowl wisk together milk, egg, egg white, granulated sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon. Dip filled bread slices in egg mixture to coat. Spray a large non-stick skillet with nonstick spray coating. Cook about 6 minutes or till golden brown, turning once.
