Hey fellow chicks,
I am looking for a good website that can help me convert recipes I already cook to healthier form. Also, a site that could calculate the calories, fat, etc. of a combo. recipe. For example, I make a mean chicken spaghetti and last night I substituted lo fat and fat free ingredients. I would like to know the nutrition info on my recipe. Does anyone know of a site with a calculator or something like that?
Thanks,
Susan

Try this site. I have not tried it but will put the info as I printed it from another web site.

Thriveonline.oxygen.net/nutrition/recipemakeover

"They have recipes you can just click on and the original version will appear to the left of the screen and the low fat version will appear on the right side of the screen.

If you have a favorite recipe, just type it in and they will make it over to low fat and e mail it back to you."
www.thriveonline.oxygen.com/n...emakeover/

I hope this works. Also don't forget you can buy Mastercook computer program that has recipes. You can change them with different ingredients and get the new nutrition info. You can put in your own recipes and get the nutrition info also. Cooking Light has a Mastercook program.

Hi Susan,

Have you visited www.dietwatch.com ? I use this to log my food and find it okay. I have had some minor problems with it, but it seems to have gotten better recently. You can also log your exercise and they have a community board and stuff too.

Maybe worth a peek?

I'm sorry... my brain must be fuzzy this morning! You wanted recipe makeovers!

Dietwatch does have a recipe makeover thing, but you have to submit the recipe to them and then it might get made-over IF they pick it...

Sorry again!

www.mastercook.sierrahome.com has a nutritional calculator and 14,000 recipes, many with low calorie versions. I have their program and it is wonderful.

Try Mastercook - they don't "makeover' recipes - but you can play around with different ingredients and change them. Its neat!!

Good luck!
