Default Sorbitol & its little friends

After years of on/off stomach pain, I think I have finally traced it to sugar alcohols. Sorbitol, Xlitol, and Maltitol (excuse my spelling). Has anyone else had this problem? I mostly avoid all "sugar free" items because of this, but it seems to be slowly creeping into other items. I have to be super careful with toothpaste, mouthwash, cough drops, et cetera. When I started researching (okay, Googling) it, it seems that a lot of people have issues with these, although it also seems the majority have terrible diarrhea with them. My issue has always been distended stomach and terrible cramps. Just wondering if anyone is in the same boat as me and if there are any other hiding places.
