Food (dishes/meals)

  • this is a very silly question and I apologize.

I am trying to put myself on a diet (again. Failed miserably a few times before due to workload and stress).

The first problem I have is that... I cant cook many meals. But what is stupid is that I dont know what kind of meals/dishes I can make (regardless if I can cook or not)

I am a vegetarian and do eat the quorn substitute. So I could make for example pasta, rice, sandwiches, soup, some frozen food - thats pretty much it.

I want to know if anyone has any dishes/recipies at all that they would like to share? Any links are also welcome.

i need to learn what types of foodsd/dishes there are and I can make for myself.
  • The easiest thing for me is calorie counting. It allows me to control my weight without having "off-limit" foods.

What do you like to eat? Try browsing for simple vegetarian recipes on websites like http://www.skinnytaste.com

The more you cook, the more you will feel comfortable and adventurous in the kitchen and will be able to make more complex dishes.
  • sorry for the delay in response. I have been busy but also did not receive any notification in my inbox about a response even though I elected to get notified.

in either case - thank you! Will look at this now.
  • I'm about to go to the store for ingredients for these two salads. Look good and filling (although I'm not really a fan of beans, figure I should suck it up since they're good for me).

Plus, I think they'll be good for a few days, especially if I wait to add the avocado until I'm actually eating the salad. For instance, if I'm eating some for dinner, I'll only cut up half of one avocado. Save the rest for the next time I want some more of the salad.
