What foods are your MVPs?

  • As i enter the fourth month of my lifestyle change, some foods really emerge as central to my new eating habits! I just wanted to see what foods get other people through..so maybe i can change it up!

    So what 3 foods are your MVP's?

    For me it's:
    Onions- yummy and volumizes
    100 calorie cottage cheese and fruit packs (Breakstone):
    Egg beaters
  • quinoa-this is the most filling grain i've tried
    avocados
    corn-been loving this so much lately!!
  • Tossed salads -- get a day's worth of veggies very easily
    Walden Farms no calorie/no carb/no fat salad dressings
    low carb pastas -- sometimes I just have to have some pasta
    home made hummus -- always hated the store bought and like just about everything, home made is so much better
    Sugar free ice cream bars
  • Morningstar Spicy Black Bean Burgers
    Sandwich Thins
    Mandarin Oranges
    Low Sodium V8
    Cream Cheese
  • Mini babybels or Armstrong cheese sticks - quenches the craving and it's a proper portion.

    Salmon fillets - just pop one in the oven for 20 minutes and it's quick easy yummy protien

    Organic raw almonds - super easy healthy snack
  • Red bell peppers!!!
  • Plain Greek yogurt
    Tiny sweet potatoes
    Frozen bags of shelled edamame
    Trader Joe's turkey burgers
    Target (Archer Farms) steam-in-bag veggies
    Hard boiled eggs
    Tuna
  • Red Peppers
    Cucumbers
    Chicken
    Beef
    Pork
    Tuna
  • Sardines
    Avocados
    Eggs
  • Eagle River Dee
    Curiosity- Do you just eat the sardines as a snack or are you using them to layer flavor into sauces?
  • Fresh and frozen veggies
    Fibre one and almond milk
    Eggs
    Salmon fillets
    Fresh and frozen fruit
  • Baby spinach
    Chicken breasts
    Eggs (any way I can get them- hard boiled, scrambled, etc)
    Cucumbers with vinegar and dillweed

    But I like the idea of mixing them into sauces- do you do that? What kind of sauces, if you do? I know some people like them in marinara.
