  • What is your favorite protein bar that is low in sugar? Do you eat a meal replacement bar and does it fill you up?
  • I like the Pure Protein Chocolate Deluxe and the Chocolite Triple Chocolate bars. I find both to be filling Good luck!
  • I am OBSESSED with the quest protein bars. The Apple Pie and Chocolate Brownie ones are the best, particularly if you warm them up in the microwave! They are about 170 cals, 20g protein, low sugar, high fiber and (I believe) gluten free.

Omg Pure Protein bars are delicious. Perfect for when I can't make a shake.

The peanut caramel is my favorite.
  • I checked out all of the bars that everyone mentioned. Very good to see that the Quest bars have 0 sugar. I am also happy to see that the Pure Protein bars only have 2 grams of Sugar. That is AWESOME !!!!! All of these bars sound delicious. I think I will find them and try them out.

    Great suggestions everyone !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for this recommendation! These look awesome. I just ordered a few flavors to try.
  • I love the Pure Protein Bars. My store puts them on sale a lot at $1 each and I go in and buy like 30 at a time and when I have coupons all the better.
They are so much cheaper than having to buy the bars online and they taste great.
  • I'm on my way to the corner store on my break at work and look for them. Be right back.
  • I went to the store and bought the Pure Protein Blueberry Crumb Cake. It was delicious!!!
  • Looking for a good protein bar recipe?

This makes a meal replacement bar at a mere fraction of the cost of packaged protein bars and none of their glycerin, preservatives, or sugar, these low-fat bars are rich in fiber and taste great with a light spread of natural peanut butter across the top. Served with a protein drink, they make a well-balanced meal.

    Difficulty: Easy
    Time Required: 20 Minutes

    Here's How:
Preheat over to 325 and spray a baking sheet or 9x12 baking dish with non-stick spray. The 9x12 baking dish will yeild thicker bars.
Mix oats, powdered milk, and protein powder in bowl and blend well.
In separate bowl, combine eggwhites, orange juice, applesauce, and the sugar-free syrup and blend well.
Stir liquid mixture into dry ingredients until blended. The consistency will be thick and similar to cookie dough.
Spread batter onto pan and bake until edges are crisp and browned.
Cut into 10 bars and store in airtight container or freeze.

    Tips:
If you find you want a moister bar, use 1/2 cup of natural applesauce.
    Kitchen Tip for Lowfat Baking:
Did you know you can replace the oil in a recipe with an equal amount of applesauce? Applesauce will add the same moisture of fat but not the added calories and it won’t alter the flavor.

    What You Need
    3 1/2 cups quick oats
    1 1/2 cups powdered non-fat milk
4 scoops low carb chocolate or vanilla protein powder
1 cup sugar-free maple syrup (Cozy Cottage, Cary's or Howard's)
    2 egg whites, beaten
    1/4 cup orange juice
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    1/4 c. natural applesauce

  • I haven't tried Pure Protein bars, but seeing them mentioned here reminded me that coupons.com has been offering a coupon for them for a while ($1 off 2 bars) so might be worth grabbing if you know you are going to get some soon. I just printed one out and it expires 6/3/12.
