I just ate a big, plump 8 oz steak
..at 11 in the morning. **** yeah. It was juicy and delicious, veeeery lightly rubbed with olive oil and just a touch of salt and pepper, and some portabello mushrooms. And you know what? It felt freaking awesome
(Mostly because I'm affording it 500 calories (let me know if you think it should be more), and working into my daily allotment of 1200...but still.)
It feels kind of badass to know I can do ridiculous things like eat a big steak for breakfast...and I'm still going to lose a pound this week.
*victory dance*
Okay, bragging over...

I think you have to treat yourself every so often as long as you work it into your daily allowance of calories. Hope it was tasty!

I want breakfast! I almost forgot I have a wellness screening test this morning so I can't eat for another hour!

Absolutely. I have easily fit some serious treats into my calorie allotments. And some that aren't NEARLY as healthy as a big chunk of animal protein like your steak, hehe.
Your body appreciates the variety, also. It'll thank you for all that protein!

Ooh, yummy!!! Good for you!!! I am a believer that we should eat the things we crave sometimes ~ yesterday it was a Cadbury Egg for me, and I fit it into my calorie allotment for the day. Gross, yes, but I'd been craving one for 4 days.

For breakfast on Sunday I ate my leftovers from dinner out the night before - half of what was essentially a cobb salad (lettuce, avocado, bacon, tomato, carrots) with bleu cheese dressing and a bison burger on top. Just that half was over 500 calories as well and it was amazing! I love low-carbing!

I think fat and protein make an excellent breakfast. I don't eat beef but if I did I'd eat it for breakfast.

Treats worked into the plan are a definite must. I have a cadbury egg waiting on me for Saturday. I am going to be doing 2 hours of zumba, so I will be earning it, lol.

Mmmm...after reading this, it has becoming PAINFULLY evident that it has been tooooo long since I've had a nice cut of STEAK!!!! Time to fire up the barbie! Boy could I go for a nice Porterhouse (grilled) with A-1 (gotta have my A-1), 1/2 twice baked potato, and steamed brocolli RIGHT NOW!!!!
This summer will be A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!

Sounds delicious! And it's funny, but I wouldn't even consider this a "treat," just an occasional part of a well-balanced, healthy diet.
