Default Gum

I ran into Walgreen's today to pick up some soda for my fiance, and at the checkout I saw the Extra Dessert Delights gums. I've had the Key Lime Pie flavor before so I passed on that, but I bought the Strawberry Shortcake and the Mint Chocolate Chip Flavors. OMG the Mint Chocolate Chip is amazing. It keeps it flavor and tastes so good, and has a great chew. 5 Calories a piece, I will be stocking up.

Good to know that you like it!! I am interested in the mint chocolate chip gum, but I wasn't sure how it would taste. I might have to grab a pack the next time I go through a checkout

Do any of you find that the sweetness in the gum becomes a "trigger" food for you? Now that I'm not craving sweets (almost two weeks without processed sugar) I can more easily say no to other foods.

I currently only chew peppermint gum because I'm afraid that anything else will bring back my cravings.

I am so jealous of this range of gum. You can buy them imported in the UK but generally you have to commit to about £12 worth as a minimum order, some people want £12 for one packet! Best value so far was 10 packs at £25, but that's still extremely expensive and still an awful lot of gum if you don't like it.

If anyone has seen it for sale in the UK, even mail order, let me know.

I've tried the key lime flavor, and I was really suprised at how good it tasted. It had an actual key lime pie taste that wasn't fake. I'm not usually much of an Extra fan since it doesn't last long enough for me, but I might have to pick up some of the other flavors in the future.

I was actually surprised that it didn't. For me, sugar and carbs generically are a huge trigger, but it seems to be more carb-related thean sweetness related. Artificial sweeteners, and even small amounts of real sugar (like in a single, small piece of hard candy) aren't a terribly strong trigger.

More than 50 calories of carbs (whether from sugar or carbs) though and it can affect my hunger dramatically.

The gum also keeps its flavor so long, that my jaws are tired of chewing before I'm tired of the gum's flavor (which may be another reason I'm not particularly hungry after chewing a piece)

I'm embarrassed to admit that I bought a multi-pack of the key lime and would eat one stick after the other. Sometimes two at a time. So that I could eat a big pack in a very short time. I guess I was binging on gum! It was during the Christmas madness so maybe that's an excuse but I won't be buying any again as I can't trust myself with it.

I used to be totally crazy for sugar-free gum, until I realized that it stimulated my sugar cravings! Now I'm trying to go sugar-free and am thus avoiding fake sugars.

ah.. I finally got around to trying all 3. oddly enough, I find myself reaching for the lime and strawberry ones the most. I don't even really like real Key Lime Pie...but I think the flavor of the gum reminds me of 7up

the mint chocolate chip's flavor fades the fastest for me.

the strawberry kinda has an overly artificial flavor, but fades into what tastes like the whipped cream mixed with strawberry flavored syrup.

I'm hoping for more flavors, maybe a vanilla?

Got some of the Mint Chocolate Chip and really like it! So did my sons! I don't find that it increases my cravings nor do I chew any more of it than my usual peppermint. It's a nice flavor.
