DH and I went out last night to dinner. We rarely get the chance to go out and eat, since we have 5 kids, but last night it was just the two of us, so we thought we'd celebrate.
Picked a "trendy" restaurant. Both of us were conscious of what we ordered, he's a meat eater, so he chose a steak with lots of grilled onions and peppers. I'm more of a fish and chicken eater, so I ordered the grilled shrimp and grilled chicken. Substituted the mashed potatoes for steamed broccoli.
Dinner came, we ate
...it was good...but not terrific. And soon we find ourselves comparing what we ate to how we would have prepared it at home and made it better! AND cheaper!
