My husband LOVES the after-effects of eating raisins. (Less time in the bathroom, if you get my drift)....However, he HATES the texture of the little things. He's forcing himself to eat a small box or two a day, but can barely stand to chew and swallow them. The fiber content isn't all that much...so it must be something ELSE in the raisin that makes it all happen??
Is there anything else he can eat that will give him the same "after effect"?
He's talked about prunes, but thinks the texture is very grape-like. Don't know how he'd know that since he's never eaten one in his life. What about those Sunsweet Ones things...anyone tried those?
Height: 5 ft 8.5" athlete who can give a punch & certainly take one too! :)
Hey Mindy the sunsweet prunes taste like candy to me, I love the orange flavored ones and the cherry flavored ones, I buy them often. Fyi,
they also have lemon flavored ones.
They even have dark chocolate covered prunes by sunsweet and they are equally awesome!
I buy them at walmart and they are all in the same area.
As far as more poopin power, hmmmm never had a problem myself. Of course you wouldn't want to over dose on these either, otherwise he may $hit himself! Yanno colon blow

The Sunsweet prunes work for me, too. I like the orange & cherry, haven't seen the lemon but will have to try those! I have a bag in my desk at work all the time and they are a great go-to snack when I need something sweet quickly.
I love prunes, and agree that they're just like candy. One or two will absolutely KILL a sweet craving!! The other, ahem, "effects" are just a side benefit - overall I get about 30 grams of fibre a day, and I find I feel so much better when I get enough as opposed to not.
