We used to eat certain flowers when we were kids... I guess that stopped along the way. I looked at that list. I've never thought about eating squash blossoms before. I wonder how they taste--- I have a garden full of them right now.
Of course I like squash blossoms battered and fried, BUT, they can also be tossed into soups and salads. Traditionally they are used in quesadillas in Mexico and added to eggs like omlettes and fritattas in Europe. The flavor is very mild, and the color really perks things up.
I love squash flowers. Since I no longer eat fried things, I just slice, then toss them them into a zucchini saute with garlic and thyme.
I like nasturtium flowers in salad, they add a great peppery kick.
