SOS! Terracotta rice cooker (not electric)

I went to our Cost Plus today to find that it was closing so they had marked stuff down. I saw something that was cool and it was a terracotta rice cooker. Only problem is that it didn't come with instructions and I don't know how to use it. Do I use it in the oven? Do I use it on the stove top? Everything I search for online has electric clay rice cookers rather than a pot. It has 2 lids, inner and outer and has rings on the bottom like maybe it goes on the stove but I don't know.

Does anyone know?

Interesting! I've never seen anything like that before. I just googled it and found a rice cooker that has a terracotta insert, could you have bought a replacement insert?

Is there a marking on the bottom for the brand?

Here's some information about cooking in a clay pot. Maybe it will help.

I too bought one of these today and I'm concerned about putting it on the stove top. Most terracotta cooking is done in the oven and I really wish it would have came with directions. There is a no return policey so I don't want to wreck it by adding direct flame
