I was about to buy my favorite cilantro jalapeno hummus from the Farmer's Market vendor yesterday and realized I was out of cash! Turned out to be a blessing. Garbanzos were on sale for $1/can at the market. I whizzed the can and most of the liquid in the food processor with lots of lemon juice, 2 green garlics (looks like green onion but it young garlic- SO good), maybe a T of olive oil, a fist full of Italian parsley from the garden, and a few hot peppers from the freezer (frozen from last year's harvest). Absolutely delicious. I am going back to grab some more cans while they are on sale (along with the 97cents/pound asparagus!
