Default PB2- Anyone heard of it?

There is a new peanut butter on the scene.
It is called PB2 and it comes in powder form...all you do is mix it with water. It comes in regular and chocolate. It does have a grity feel to it and the consistency of regular peanut butter. It can be found in the health market @ HyVee. It is a little more expensive...It is around 5 bucks for a 6.5 oz jar.

Basic Creamy Peanut Butter:
serving size- 2 tbsp.
calories- 200
fat- 16g
fiber- 2g

WW points-5

PB2(chocolate):
serving size- 2 tbsp.
calories- 52
fat- 1.4g
fiber- 1g

WW points-1

Just had some today with an apple. Loves it. Tastes exactly like regular smooth pb. It is great. The only thing that sucked is it said if you make a pbj sandwich, you should just add the powder to the jelly. No. Don't try that. You've got to turn it to the pb and then add the pb.

It lacks that stick-to-the-roof-of-my-mouth quality that regular PB does, so I KNOW that this stuff will NEVER be a trigger food for me like PB is. It tastes "watery"...but I honestly haven't tried it on anything yet. I've only mixed a serving up and tried to eat it like I usually do PB - by the spoonful. Couldn't do it. I'm interested to find out how it bakes up though, and I will try adding a little to a chocolate protein shake. I think there are recipes on their website.

I'm about ready to order my 4th shipment of the stuff. I love it. I don't care for it straight as it doesn't have the same richness or strong peanut taste as traditional peanut butter, but it is wonderful in smoothies, dessert recipes, and especially when making a thai peanut sauce for chicken, asian slaws, noodles dishes.. etc. The vendor has lots of recipes on the site and I've tried a few.

This time I am going to order some of the chocolate PB2.. yum

What a good idea for stir fries and salad dressings! I'm a die hard crunchy fan for toast so I'll stick to my TJ's natural peanut butter for toast!

I love this stuff. I use the chocolate kind to 'frost' my 1 minute muffins. Yum!

I also made a protein bar using the regular stuff. It was a little dry, but sure cut down the calories and fat!
