100 Calorie Packs

Who likes them, and what is your favorite? I loooooove the chips ahoy and doritos. I just noticed they have smartfood now. Can't wait to try them. I know they're not the healthiest for me, but when I crave a snack they're perfect. So, how about you gals?

Can't stand them myself. :)

If I'm going to eat 100 calories worth of food, I can do much better than one of those and feel much more satisfied in the long run.

They don't fill me up. If i am in the mood for chips I will have 2 servings of Fat Free Pringles which is 30 chips for 140 calories and 0 g fat. The 100 calorie packs of snacks are way small.

I get them for when I have a craving for something sweet. Right now, I have Oreo Thins, Chocolate covered Mr. Salty Pretzels, and I tried the new Hostess Chocolate Cupcakes. They're pretty handy for me, because I keep a box of 2 point snacks (I'm on WW) handy and just grab one when I need a little snack.

By the way, the Hostess 100 cal packs are pretty good - it's 3 quarter-sized mini-cupcakes and there's even 5g of fiber per pack!

I had considered buying them as a snack for between my classes but once I saw their size I decided against them. Now i saw an add for those hostess cupcaks been thinking of trying them next month when I go food shopping. Definetly need something substantial for 100cals so I dont get any of those urges that could lead me astray. I currently buy carmel rice cakes from Aldis where you get 8 cakes for 60 cals as well as fat free. I tend to take two servings with me and they do wonders on keeping me satisfied and they are cheap, always a plus.

I love them! :D

I sometimes eat them as snacks along with something else, but usually I will have them with a meal for an added treat or to reach that satisfied feeling those times when my regular meals just aren't filling enough.

My favorites are the Hostess snack cakes (carrot cake, cup cakes, cinnamon swirl, etc). Those are great little desserts! I also like the bags of Cheese Nips.

I know that they are too small to fill me up on their own, which is why I will pair them with a meal as a bonus or eat them with another item for a snack.
:)

Exactly. They're not filling unless you just want to nibble, or have them as a treat with a meal. But sometimes it's just enough to curb a craving.

LORNA DOONES!!! YUM!!!! There are only like 5 in a bag though and they're the size of scrabble pieces. Still delicious though! yum yum yum!

I love all that sort of thing. Right now, I am trying to avoid as many processed foods as possible, so I am on vacation from Chips Ahoy (my favorite). I bought a pack of those little snack sized zip lock bags and I am going to try making up snack packs from stuff I already have on hand. Maybe some raisins, nuts etc - in small quantities.

I like the 100 calorie Kettle Popcorn, you get so much of popcorn for 100 calories, almost feel like cheating. I only have it once in a while as a treat

I second that. :D

I use them occasionally. The sweet ones I use as treats. The chip ones I use to eat with a sandwich for a small lunch some times.

nelie 08-24-2008 10:08 AM

I don't use them. I could eat 10 of them :)

100 calorie packs contain the kind of processed foods that I'm working to eliminate from my diet or at least reduce to the occasional time. When I do indulge, I want it to be for something extra special. If I were eating these food items, I'd be more likely to buy the full-size container and parcel them out myself for considerably less money.

I used to do that with items for school lunches. Then my kids could easily make selections from a basket of assorted foods. They knew that only one of these items could be selected at a time - they also had to choose a fruit and a vegetable with their sandwich or salad. I tried to keep fruits and veggies packaged in the refrigerator to make them easy choices not just for lunches but for snacks.
