Pantry full of dried beans!!

  • They were on sale and just couldn't justify NOT buying them! I am dieting, right? I was thinking about doing this today, so help would be greatly appreciated.

    This is my question: If I soak and cook them, will freezing cause the texture to change? Hubby thinks so, but I don't.

    If freezing is ok, for how long? I tend to forget what I have in there!

    I would also like to have the nutritional info on various types of beans. Could someone direct me?
  • When my mom makes bean soup she always makes extra and freezes it. it makes a quick easy dinner and to me it tastes and feels the same. She freezes it up to a few months. Once you thaw them out though, remember to just warm them up and not over cook. also once they are frozen and unthawed i wouldnt reccomend refreezing. as for nutritional data have you tried something like thedailyplate.com ? good luck

  • We also make bean soup and freeze it and it is just fine!!! So I say GO FOR IT!!!
