And this one made me LOL.

I tried some fat free cottage cheese yesterday. The taste wasn't horribly bad, but i couldn't get past the texture! I don't think I'll be eating that one again.

Those Lays chips with Olestra! Esp. the doritos, they were like greasy cardboard with dorito dust on the outside.
Splenda Flavor Blends for Coffee in Chocolate. It tastes like chocolate scratch 'n sniff stickers.
Sugar-free pancake syrup... although I don't like the full-sugar kind either, the result of being raised with (sometimes homemade!) maple syrup.
Fat-free kraft cheese... shredded or slices... ewww.
Fat-free mayo (I prefer light over regular, though).

This one isn't a diet food, just a healthy one that I will never get used to -- natural peanut butter. I eat PB so rarely that I just use the Simply Jif and deal with the sugar and salt.

That is funny because I think regular peanut butter tastes nasty and wouldn't be able to eat Jif or something like that.

the all natural pb makes me barf for about 3 days. way to much oil, even if it is the healthy kid.
FF salad dressings have a disgusting aftertaste to me.
I'm also very allergic to any artificial sweetener, yes, including stevia "the all natural" stuff. I lost 40 pounds last year and NEVER touched any of that articial stuff, so it is possible.
Tuna spaghetti sauce. I still shudder when I think about it.

Tofu and any brand of FF cheese or mayonaise.

I agree with ff mayo, GAG. I like the light mayo (and Miracle Whip) but not the complete fat-free.

I don't mind ff cottage cheese and cream cheese, though. I eat those quite often.

Ya know, a lot of people HATE Better N PB, but I LOVE it!! I just bought it for the first time and I really think it tastes SO SO much like regular PB, but it doesn't make me bingey....

I can't deal with tofu, either. Blech. It just seems wrong....
And soy cheese and tofurkey and all that stuff?? Don't even get me started...

THIS statement I have to totally agree with. I'm not a fan of "diet" foods in general. We don't have a lot here, so maybe that's why it all tastes like utter crap here. I just make due with what we have and eat a lot of fruit and veg as snacks instead of diet snacks.

Well I wouldn't say that soy cheese or tofurkey are diet foods. Really they are junk foods for those who don't eat meat/dairy. I don't eat either.

I do enjoy tofu though but I have only cooked it a few times myself. Mostly because I really enjoy it when eating out but it intimidates me some when cooking it at home. Silken tofu is different though and I've used that a few times. It makes a great mayo substitute and can be used to make creamy dressings. Some people also add it to their smoothies.

I beg to differ: right now I have a package of whole-wheat Flat Outs and I don't care for them as much (I don't think they fold over on the ends as well as the other flavors) but I think on the whole Flat Outs are ok.

I have yet to find a fat-free cottage cheese that doesn't taste like wallpaper paste, I always insist on 1%

One time I picked up a little bag of Atkins cheddar cheese-flavor chips: cardboard! Never again!

I kind of feel that way about those Wasa crackers. I tried those a couple of times and that was serious cardboard. Even with toppings. Gross.

I also vote for fat-free cream cheese being totally awful tasting!

Whenever I've tried it, I can only finish perhaps 1/2 of the bagel I'm eating. (Maybe that's how the stuff works: it tastes so bad you end up throwing out what you wanted to eat!)

I also despise fat-free salad dressings. BLECH!

FF dairy anything is disgusting. It can only be reduced for me.

Not quite diet but supposedly healthy...Mine mom's husband made mashed potatoes with rutabagas in them, but didn't tell us. I put some in my mouth and was sitting there w/ some kind of slime goo that I couldn't figure out. I couldn't spit it out, so I swallowed it, then damned near spit up. The man was good to my mom, but we quickly learned he was not the world's greatest cook.

I'm not wild about Wasa either (Prof. x likes them and keeps them @ work: he's been on the Atkins diet off and on), but I like Ak-maks, they have a little more flavor with the sesame seeds
