Craving Something Cheesy
OK - so it is TOM and I am CRAVING something cheesy! But, I am not going to go back into old habits.
So I'm here to ask for help. What are your favorite, HEALTHY dishes that would satisfy that need for cheese?
This is possible, isn't it?
Thanks everyone!

If it were me, I would indulge in a stick of string cheese or some Baby Bells. A few slices of pepper jack is good, too, since it's a little spicy and gives an extra kick. Or, I would have one of those cups of instant mac n' cheese, or a plate of Lean Cuisine mac n cheese if I wanted to keep it on the healthy side.
I know some people are probably recoiling in horror reading that, but those items aren't necessarily outlawed for me on my eating plan.

I forgot to add one of my old favorites: fat-free pop-corn. Spray it with some "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" and sprinkle cheese-flavored powder stuff on it (you can find it in the spice aisle at the grocery store).

cheese, ohhhhhh how i love cheese, let me count the ways!!!!
try putting some beef bouillan in a cup of boiling water, then add 1 or 2 wedges of laughing cow LIGHT cheese and stir until it melts, very cheesy, very creamy filling and satisfying.
also lowfat romano cheese is low-cal and can be heated on a 100 cal thomas english muffin, cut it into strips and dip it in spaghetti sauce for a healthier version of cheesybread.

Second the vote for Laughing Cow or low-fat string cheese. Both satisfy my craving for cheese and are significant protein sources

I know this doesn't work for some people ... but for me the only way to stop a true craving is to indulge it. Not binge, mind you, but 1 oz of sharp cheddar cheese, nibbled on slowly and savoured will really do the trick for me. The idea is not to eat it in a couple of large bites, but to nibble and taste and enjoy.
Usually that works for me.

By cheesy...do you mean cheese sauce like? That's what I think of when I hear cheesy.
I like this recipe that is in the SBD recipes. She calls is Alfredo Sauce but I don't really think it tastes like alfredo. I put it on broccoli. Its really yummy!

Don't forget cottage cheese. I put it over cooked veggies and nuke it for a minute- it actually gets melty, stringy, gooey!

CHEESE eater here also....YUMMY!!!!
I have been pretty good with the laughing cow lite wedges/balls. They are like 50 calories each and have 6-7 grams of protein so have a couple of them spread on a lowfat/low carb tortilla and have a nice cheesy snack!

Laughing Cow wedges
2.5 g protein - 35 calories = .071 g/cal
Swiss cheese
10 g protein for 130 calories = .076 g/cal
It is roughly the same amount of protein as regular cheese. When I add them to either a Flatout Bread or a Thomas Multi-grain Light English muffin, it boosts the protein enough to be a balanced snack
Flatout plus LC = 11.5 g protein and 125 cals
English Muffin plus LC = 8.5 g protein and 135 cals
