It kinda works like this, water follows salt, so the more salt you have in your body the more water you have. Sodium increases blood pressure. If you have high blood pressure it can cause problems with your heart and kidneys. The higher the blood pressure the more your heart works. The kidneys are the filtering system in the body and they help clean your blood, so they can be overworked as well. In the end you should watch how much sodium you take in every day. Everything in moderation.
