DH and I went to an organic market yesterday and we were looking in the cereals. I found Puffed Kamut by arrowhead mills. 1 cup of this cereal is 50 calories. It has 3 grams of fiber and 2 grams of protein. The only ingredient is... puffed kamut It tastes pretty decent and is just a good low cal snack for when I need something.
Never had Kamut . . . although I have heard of it. Will have to try it. Thanks, Nelie . . .
I love good old Quaker Puffed Wheat as a snack . . . not organic, but nothing but whole wheat in it . . . 1 cup is 44 calories; 2 grams protein, but only 1 gram of fibre . . . added advantage of being very inexpensive.
Quaker Puffed Rice is 54 calories, 1 gram protein, 1 gram of fibre . . . calories are higher because it isn't as full of air as the wheat . . . but I don't like the taste as well.
