DVD suggestions please! Beach Body or the Firm

  • Hi, Everyone!

I'm new to the forums but I've been learning a lot already by reading through some old threads.

I'm looking for some advice. I've been dieting for about a month now and have lost about 10 pounds so far, mostly by walking. I'm looking to ramp the cardio up a little bit and would like to incorporate strength training as well. I'm thinking I might like to try a DVD program.

I've been looking at the different Beach Body programs. The Slim in 6, Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire ones all seem like they might be great. I also have an old Firm program (with the "fanny lifter").

Has anyone used any of these? My main goal is to get smaller--I'm not as concerned with losing pounds as I am with shrinking my size. I would still consider myself a beginner as far as exercise goes, so I'm wondering if something like Turbo Fire would be too hard for me. Any experiences/advice would be really helpful!
  • If you don't want to drop that much money, try Jillian Michael's 30 day shred dvd. It has 3 different levels using stregnth, cardio, and abs. I love it and lost about15 lbs while using it over 2 or so months.
  • Hello! Personally, I love the Turbo Jam and Turbo Fire workouts. I just started Turbo Fire this week and just completed 19 weeks of Turbo Jam. Excellent workouts with excellent results. Turbo Jam is a great place for starting out. I've seen the slim in 6 workouts and I think that those would be effective too, but I prefer high energy to a slower paced workout. Good Luck!
  • Any of the Pink Gaiam Firms are great, as is the Firm Express set.
  • Turbo Fire is a nice system if you want cardio, it also has some stretching and a couple of toning workouts. TF has a modifier showing lower impact versions of the moves so it could be a system you grow with .

I think I have that Firm system you have- those are also good workouts, if you have them and the weights, you can start using those right away. You could even use them with TF to get more weight work in.

and I agree with Jillian having good workouts if you don't want to spend a bunch of money.
