Default Looking for a 30 Day Shred buddy!

I've had Jillian Michael's 30 day shred DVD for probably over a year... and have still never done all 30 days. I usually get sore and lazy and stop after a few days or so. I think I'm at the point in my weight loss where I'm not going to lose much more if I don't exercise (I was exercising every day until I got pregnant, still haven't gotten back into that routine - baby is almost 5 months old).

Soooooo I was wondering if anyone else that has it might be up for doing all 30 days with me? We could do it over 30 days or even stretch it over 60 (I don't know about working the same muscle groups two days in a row - isn't that a no-no?). Keep each other motivated, give support; maybe over PM or email?

Let me know! Hope everyone is having a great week, it's almost Friday!

Hey Carissa! I'm so happy to have found your post.

I'm in the same boat with the 30 day shred. I've used it, and I feel like it does me a lot of good, but I've never really just stuck it out through the full 30 days. To be honest, I've never even ventured past the first stage!

I am just getting started with my weight loss and I wanted to incorporate some exercise right away. I had been planning on doing the full 30 days over the 30 days of June, but then i came down with a flu/fever on the 1st!

Your post inspired me to give my idea another shot. When were you thinking of starting? I'll start today if you want to!

There is a thread in the Chicks Up for a Challenge support group that is doing the shred for the month if June. So far I have done all of June and believe me working out through the soreness makes it better at least that's how it worked for me I am no longer as sore as when I started. I had the DVD for about a year and this is the longest I have EVER stuck with it and I see the difference in my measurements

Aw, I'm so glad I could. A big first for me in the weight loss department!

Expect a PM from me as soon as I finish Day 1. We've got this!

Oh oh I want in on this! I'll just be a day behind yall. I have to start tomorrow. I worked in the heat laying tile, sealing grout, and painting trim for 8 hours today and I was SO gross I just wanted to shower lol. So, I will start tomorrow if I can join in too? The most I've done in a row is like 9 days I think. But, I've been doing it at least a few times a week with 30 minutes of zumba and I think if I actually do 30 days I'll be really happy with my results! lol

Just finished Day 2 - ouch. My muscles were aching from yesterday and I definitely "felt the burn." This workout's reminding me how out of shape I am.

*Sorry PM's aren't working for me for some reason. I'll try again tomorrow - hope I'm not missing any messages from you guys!

I did it today for the first time. I want to join in with you. I'll just be a day behind.

I had a problem with the pushups, though. I can't do regular pushups and have such a bad knee that I can't get on my knees to do the modified ones, either. So I just tried to keep moving during that part.

I guess I'm just looking forward to the day when I'm light enough and strong enough that I can do the regular pushups!

I definitely want to join! I also did it for the first time today. It's been about 5 hours since then and I'm already feeling the soreness.

Today will be day 4 for me! The soreness goes away and believe it or not, it actually GETS BETTER when you do the work out again. Wooo!

The push ups for the first month I did 30 day- not everyday but about 15 or 16 out of the month I did level 1 and I jogged during push ups, and did bending knee jumping jacks as well as jump rope. She says not to modify jumping jacks, but doing it a couple weeks last month it is sooo much easier this time around. Of course I still take breaks! lol

I decided not to start all over, I wanna get to level 2 and see what it holds for me, right now I'm afraid to watch it! lol

Did Day 2 today.
Wow, it was so much harder than Day 1. I'm a little worried about tomorrow!

Okay, I kind of jogged through the pushups, too. Yeah, and those jumping jacks....
