  • Cathy-Glad you are feeling better and back at it!!

Today was a snow day for all of us. I slept in this morning and have not exercised at all. Have both of my boys here and older son's girlfriend. Not easy to exercise....back at it in the morning for sure.
  • I have been so busy lately I have not been able to log in.

Cathy - I am so glad you are feeling better. I hope you are back up and walking soon.

I had my first WATP accident. I was working out on Saturday (3 mile Weight Loss Walk) and got my feet tripped up doing the grapevine. I fell to the ground and landed on my right wrist and sprained it pretty good. I also bruised up my knee. I jumped right up and continued the work out, but later in the day I was hurting. At least I fell on the carpet.

    Sunday - 5-Mile Fat Burning Walk (miles 1, 2, 3 and 4)
Monday - No exercise. Went to Santa Cruz to visit daughter and grandson and celebrate my 54th birthday.
Today - 2-Mile Brisk Walk, 2.5 mile walk during lunch and lifted weights. Lifting weights were a challenge with a sore wrist, but I worked through it.

I hope you all stay safe and warm with the upcoming storms.
  • 2 mile Walk Slim with Firm bands. 22 degree F outside. Glad to be inside.
  • Still home from work. Got tired of being a vegetable in my recliner and got up and did the 5 Mile Weight Loss Walk....whew! Feel great now after a shower. Back to work tomorrow (if I can get out of my neighborhood)...I do not want to use any more vacation time for this stupid weather.

Toonses-Hope your wrist and knee are feeling better.
  • Annie - Thanks. My wrist is feeling better, but my knee is still so so. On top of this my daughter called yesterday to tell me my grandson has pink eye (I was with him all day on Monday). My eyes were burning all day today and I caught a cold. I just can't win.

Tonight - Biggest Loser Walk (miles 1 and 2). I feel terrible that I cannot get my full workouts in. I am trying my best to get something done. Even if I can get a 2-mile workout I feel I am progressing.

I hope all of are doing ok in this terrible weather. Stay safe.
  • 1 mile slim down, resistance bands because of Bible Study AM. I have not seen the usual walkers go by my window while doing WATP. 22F might have something to do with it. Kids hoping for snow.
  • Yikes, Karen, I guess that IS cold for ya'll down there! It is currently 2 degrees here.

I got up and did the 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk with 2# hand weights and also wore my 10 pound vest.
  • Got off work a bit early and came home and did 2 Mile Power Walk with friends with 10# vest and 3# hand weights.
  • Ladies, I cannot believe the low temps you are seeing. Brrrrrr. I am sending some warmth your way.

Tonight - I stayed home with a bad cold but managed to do the 3-Mile Bootcamp and lifted weights.
  • Thanks, Toonses...I'm freezing my too-kas off!!
  • 2 mile fat burn, resistance bands, 22 F, I have seen only 1 man pulling his dog up the hill to walk, little Chihuahua, poor thing. Glad a good bit of my exercise is in the house.

    Stay warm.
  • Did the 3 Mile Boot Camp w/bands this morning.
  • 5 Mile Fat Burning Walk today!!

    ********************************************
I am taking a big risk on wasting some money here....LOL. I have been worried that my younger son (older son for that matter, too) has not been getting any physical activity in his days. I devised a wicked plan () to get him moving and possibly into exercise. I decided to order the Teen Walk (he is 14) from Walk At Home and make a bet and/or deal that he will do it at least 3 times a week for a month. I think I may sweeten the deal with a crisp $50 dollar bill as the deal sealer... What do you all think?? Older son is almost 19 and I doubt I could get him interested, but thinking younger son might just go for it if money is involved. And maybe he will feel so good he will want to continue exercising in some way.

One note: I did order the DVD. I checked Amazon to try to get the cheapest price but there were none under $59????? So I ordered it from Walk At Home where it was listed at $19.95 and then they tacked on $14.13 for shipping... That is way too much for shipping, but I don't think Target or Walmart carries these....I checked online. So, it's done. We'll see if I can get him interested when it arrives.
  • 2 hours of English Country Dancing. It had been ages since I last went. What a blast, dancing with a trim fit body. DH got leg cramps during the night, poor thing, but I slept sound. This is exactly what I want from MY exercise program, the ability to do these other activities with mobility and stamina. No sweating, some perceived exertion.

Off to the lax field this afternoon. College son is home for alumni game.
