Hello Ladies!!! Coincidentally I just started P90X too!!!! Yah!! I need some partners in this to keep me motivated so I would luv to join the forum if you don't mind:-)
I do my cardio at the gym so I will only be using the strength training videos. I am not a "home video" type of girl, but I wanted to try it to change my weight training more and challenge myself.
I did Chest and Back on Tuesday and I am sore, but that means it worked!! Tonight I am going to do Arms and Shoulders I think it is....
Looking forward to it!!!
I'll check in tomorrow!

(i live in a dorm room) I have like 6ftx7ft of open space.. enough room?? also am not able to hang a pull up bar.. is there an alternative? before I left for school I was doing crossfit, which i LOVED and I am hoping p90x will compare! thanks for your help!

sexyVxn, beb, quantumsheep - welcome!
Beb-I also have small open space to workout but it's work (you don't need a lot of space for push ups You could alternate pull up bars with bands (stick it at door) or weights.
Just bring it!

Thanks, Moyca! The plan was to exercise this morning, but unexpected guests mean that I'll be working out in about 4 hours time. Chest and Back is one of my favorite of the exercises, so I'm looking forward to getting started. I will report back tonight on my experience.

Week 3 was way easier than week 1. I am currently in the middle of my rest week and will be starting up phase 2 in the next couple days.
I am currently trying to decide if I am going to continue with classic or move over to doubles.
How is everyone else doing on it?

Hey guys! I just started p90x yesterday and I'm so excited! I used to lift weights a couple of years ago, but haven't done much since and I didn't realize how weak I had gotten.
I'm going to have to sub running for plyometrics and cardio because I live in an apartment with really thin floors and the neighbors would kill me if I jumped around. I'm also afraid to hang a pull-up bar because our apartment has old, decorative molding around the doors and I'm not sure how sturdy they are - and I don't want to find out the hard way! Has anyone had experience with this? Can you actually bring down the door frame (if it's old) with a pullup bar? In the meantime, I'm just using the bands, but I feel like it's not as good of a workout. Granted, I can't do a pullup and I'm sore from using the bands yesterday, but I would at least like to strive for a pullup

Ready to Bring It and lose it!
Hey Everyone! I started P90X around this time last year but had to stop due to technical difficulties of my laptop and TV not being able to connect....long story short it is fixed now and I finished workout #3 today. I'm following the lean program because...well...it only has Ab Ripper twice a week instead of three times. I know it sounds like a horrible way to choose a workout program, but I really enjoy the Core Synergistics.
I had Shoulders and Arms tonight with Ab Ripper. I completed the first one but was not able to finish Ab Ripper. I hope it will get easier as time goes on. I see the results people have online, but I'm still skeptical about my own. I suppose it's the ingrained image I have of my body and I don't really think it can change. You see yourself one way for so long that you can't imagine it any other way. My boyfriend says with the intensity of the workouts and the way I've changed my eating habits that I will.
I'm following their suggestions for diet type (ie: more protein, fewer carbs) but I was a weight watchers dieter previously so I'm tracking everything in points. It's easier for my brain to understand the point system. I don't understand the counting calories, but maybe I just haven't had it explained to me properly.
I'm looking forward to seeing the results. I took my before picture yesterday and my measurements today. I'm hoping that my 41-35-45 will soon be shrinking. I don't have a size or weight goal in mind...I just want to be a healthier more fit version of me. (okay, and wearing a bathing suit at the beach while camping this summer WITHOUT looking like a beached beluga whale would be nice too!)
I'm glad to find a place where everyone is supportive and can help motivate one another. I will definitely need that as time goes on. I hurt everywhere, and have for the past three days, but I'm still in my living room every day after work getting ready to BRING IT!
Yoga tomorrow...I can't wait!!!

I have P90X and I am considering starting the Lean version. I am training right now for a 10k so I may have to just sub my running days right now for my cardio. Do you think it may be too much to still do my short runs and a P90X workout in a days time?

OMG!!! What a horrible weekend!! I attempted to eat as best as possible but I did not get ANY of my workouts done!!!! Today is supposed to be my rest day but I'm going to workout to make up for this weekend. Not the best start to the program this week, but I will do my best this week to turn it around. I can't change what happened so I will try and make week 2 more of a success. I've got my meals planned for this week which should help. Today was hectic with month end at work so I had Subway for lunch. Roasted chicken salad instead of a sub to save the carbs. Here's to week 2! I hope its a great one. Wish the rest of you success in your workouts and fitness journeys this week!!

Slow and steady...
Well, eventhough I missed a few days of my workout, it must have been enough with my changes in my eating habbits. I still have not acquired a scale, so weight readings are out the window, but I have lost 4.5 inches in a week!!! Most of it came off my hips and thighs, not very much off my waist...but it's progress none the less...I've gone from 41-35.25-45.25 to 40.25-35-44.5 which is wonderful to see. I'm so excited! The best part is I lost an inch of each thigh!! YEEHAW!!! Thunder thighs no more.
Now if only I could find me a scale!
