Belly Dancing video
Anyone have any good suggestions for a belly dancing video?

Cool, thanks.
Any DVD recommendations?

I have the
-Goddess Workout with Dolphina
-Discover Bellydance with Veena and Neena (basic and beyond basic, tried to skip ahead - you really do need the basic moves down first!)
- Hip Hop Hip Drop (also put out by Natural Journeys)
I'm sorry I don't remember which I liked better. I do remember that I didn't particularly like HipHop HipDrop.
Netflix has a bunch of different ones, if you have an account that would be a great way to try a few out.
hmmm....I might have to give those babies another go.....

I'll check those out and do some You Tube surfing. Thought is sounded like a fun way to get in a workout.

I just purchased a two dvd set called "Serpentine". It's put out by Rachel Brice, and most reviews on amazon really praise it. I found it on ebay for just under $20, but haven't gotten it yet, so I can't tell you anything about it. Other than that I have two Veena and Neena Dvds: "Bellydance Fitness for Beginners - Arms, Abs, Hips, Buns & Thighs" and "Bellydance Fitness for Beginners - Basic Moves & Fat Burning" which are good, because they go very slow. I also have one by Rainia (can't remember the title-sorry) but the camera moves away from her feet a lot when you are doing an exercise, and I find it frustrating.
If you're more interested in learning Bellydance than just doing a dance workout, I'd suggest the Dvd Jenna's "Bellydance Basics and Beyond: Technique for a Solid Foundation".
Oh, and if you have Direct TV there's a channel called fit-tv that has a bellydancing show called "Shimmy." Most of the moves on there are for people who are more advanced, though. I have a hard time following some of them.
And there's always Netflix. They have a good selection.

Okay. I got my Serpentine today, and it is set up like mini classes. At the end of the first disk, Rachel shows you a way you can combine the 2 disks into a schedule for those with a lot of time, and for those with limited time. There's 2 complete yoga workouts (a warm up which is nearly 40 minutes, and a cool down), and there are leg, arm, and core strengthening segments, and drills. The second disk even has two dances you can learn for performing. It's definitely a good deal for the price.
