Hi! I'm new to this site and the forum. I'm really hoping to see some results from Zumba and maybe some other gym workouts. Thanks for starting this forum!

My knees have been aching ever since. It's not actual pain, just aching.
I've been doing plenty of other types of exercise for years. I don't know if it's because the movements are different from what I'm used to or not.
I've never had problems with my knees before.
I'd like to buy the Exhilirate set, but I don't want to spend the money if the workouts are going to cause pain.
Thanks!

Sherry when I started doing a Zumba class my knees killed! I did a little research on shoes and found lots of recommendations for different kinds. I ended up buying the Nike Musique shoe it has a pivot on the bottom of the shoe and is used by a lot of cheer leaders for dance. My knees stopped hurting after I started wearing them. So maybe if you find a different pair of shoes it may help you out. You definitely want to take care of those knees!

zumbaholic
the stitch thing when you drink water during work out...I hear that and felt it too lol. But I love doing my zumba at home with my little lad. I don't have anyone to look after him to do the classes so I do alternate express 20min one day then next sculpt and tone. I struggled with my weight for years. I went to slimming world and lost 3half stone and manage to keep 3stone off but need to get fit and tone up, so my zumba addiction was born. It's ace and if you lived near me I would happily be your zumba buddy!

For those of you who do Zumba at home, do you recommend the Total Body Transformation or the Exhilarate series? I've read good and bad things about both and I can only afford one (and barely at that) so I'm hoping I can make the right choice the 1st time. I know either will be good, but which do you prefer, and why? Thank you!!

I just got the Total Body Transformation about a week ago. I chose it over the Exhilarate because I read reviews on Amazon that people liked the addition of a toning DVD and the DVDs are better overall (?)
I've only used two DVDs so far out of the four, and haven't touched my toning sticks, although I'm super excited about those.

Keep it up!
I was nervous about starting Zumba but love it now. I find that I like going to classes better than videos because I get new routines. I find the trainer commentaries really annoying on the DVDs. I liked the Exhilarate series better because I can chose the music only option.

I am curious to try Zumba. I tried the game for xbox, but became frustrated because I was having trouble with the moves. I'm betting that the dvds explain the moves much better. I want to try the them, but I don't know what to get. Are they are similar packages but with different routines? I'm also curious if Zumba helps tone. I decided my first goal is weight loss. Then after I've made decent progress I can start working on toning. Something that helps do both is always a plus!
Thanks!
I hope this thread becomes active again!

Does the Exhilarate series have different routines from the Total Body Transformation series?
I have the TBT series right now, but I want new routines.
Maybe I'll just have to switch it up with another workout DVD.

Ah yay more zumba lovers! I have the DVDs which is what I am going to start doing. I went ot classes but there were so many stinkin' people you could barely move. I am sure they were more effective, but wasn't for me! It is amazing how long you work out and don't even realize you are well, working out!

I finally got my DVDs after taking a few classes. I have other workout DVDs so I was really holding off on buying them, but I'm glad I got them. I did the 60 min beginner video and the 20 minute express. I started doing Cardio Party but stopped myself because I know I will be sore tomorrow
