Default Please, can you explain Walk Away the Pounds?

I can't believe I'm asking an exercise-related question! I must be feeling confident in my weightloss.

I am NOT trying to get out of buying the book/video but I can't find much information online. The walk away the pounds website link doesn't lead anywhere. One brief description says you walk away the pounds in your own home. Is that right? I can't visualize walking on the spot - or buying a treadmill either, so maybe I've got it wrong.

I'd appreciate any help before I jump into amazon.

Thanks.

You walk on the spot in front of your TV. I know, sounds boring, but it is actually fairly engaging. You do more than just walk, though: I forget what she does to switch it up, but it does keep you going.

Oh--and she isn't alone, which is helpful. She has a group of people of all shapes and sizes doing it with her...so that's kind of nice too.

Can you get a copy from your library before you buy it?

My description is it's an aerobics video that's based on marching in place rather than dance steps so I don't get quite so discombobulated. For variety you do side steps, knee lifts, kicks front and back. Then adds in some arm movements.

Go to collage and do a search for "sansone" and you will get a bunch of the ones they have with the video clips.

http://www.collagevideo.com/

It is basically low impact walking style aerobics. Get it at your library and try before you buy.

The Kim Lyons set is also walking style aerobics but adds a weight training portion.

Thanks for the info, guys, I'll go do my research now.

I think what I'm really after is a guide on how to extend my outdoor walking - though I can't see how that could be a DVD, of course! So a book, I guess; or maybe an online programme.

It's all city round me, and I feel a bit weird just walking, unless I'm walking into town to go shopping. I know I could just tell myself that today I'll do double the distance, or try to do the same distance in a shorter time. However, I like to have instructions to follow - I'm quite obedient - and would feel less silly if I were walking to a plan, even though I'd still be walking in
the same area.

Maybe you need something like a training schedule?

Try a 5K one.

Or audio tapes?
