Has anyone read the 30 day shred book? I was wondering if the workouts in the book are whats in the DVD. The DVD has on the cover you can lose 20 pounds in 30 days, same as what the book says, I'm wondering if I should get it for the diet info?

Level 2 day 4, I took festivus' advice and really just focused on balance and positioning for plank and made some serious progress :]

I just finished level 2 day 6 after a week of not doing it. It wasn't as hard as I remembered it being and I forgot how good it feels after. Hopefully I can stick to it this time.

Today was L2 D1. It was not easy. Partway through I found myself longing for level one. There was a definite leap in difficulty level. I know it'll get better, but when I was done I just wanted to crawl back into bed..and not go to work.

It surprises me too, I'm always glad after I do it, it leaves a great feeling of accomplishment!

No worries Sylvied, just take it one day at a time! It took me about 2 weeks of doing level 2 every day before I felt like I really did a good job, then I moved on to level 3! I remember the first few days, it took me twice as long to "recover" afterwards, so I was late to work.

I didn't know there was an accompanying book. I hear Jillian mention the diet in the video, and I was wondering what she was talking about.

Hi
I'm on day 6 of level 1, i started with 3 lbs weights and now i'm using 5 but sometimes i have trouble completing the strength part.
I was wondering if i had to look like Nathalie, the girl on the left, before moving on to level 2
how did you guys know you were ready?

haha, I WISH I looked like Natalie! The point of this program is to keep challenging yourself. Once a level felt "doable", I moved on. For me that was 10 days for level 1, 15 on level 2 and I just finished day 3 on level 3. I'd recommend really pushing yourself to try using the 5 pound weights more, the more you push, the more progress you'll make, even if you can't do every rep.

Thanks for the estimate, festivus. 15 days sounds a lot more realistic to me than 10. I'm still skipping too many reps to think I'll manage to make L2 doable in 10 days.

Well, we survived days 1 and 2. Do you guys do the workout EVERY day or do you take rest days? My husband's back is really sore so he wants to skip today. I've been running too, so I think a rest day is in order but I don't want to cheat...

I haven't been skipping but I don't go running and, for me, part of it is just getting into the routine of working out regularly. I think, if you're exhausted, you're more likely to hurt yourself so a break may be in order...
My fear is that, for me, a "break" might become permanent, but you already have a workout routine, so you'll probably be fine

level 2 day 5. I took a down day yesterday for recovery and jumped right in again today. The toughest part for me are the lunges with a v-raise. HOLY CRAP. They kill me every time. Level 2 will probably take me over 10 days.

Well, I'm level 3, but I'd still consider myself to be a beginner! Good luck, 30DS is pretty awesome!

That exercise was the biggest challenge for me on level 2 as well, my arms would rebel and not want to move. But, they did their job! There isn't a similar move to that in level 3, so think of it as counting down to no more V raises!

I do the 30DS and pilates 5-6 days a week. Pilates is no impact, which is why it's doable for me. I think if you run regularly, it might be hard on your joints if you do 30DS every day. I'd give it a try for a few days in a row, and listen to your body. If you just feel tired, or muscle sore, I'd say go for it. Otherwise if you are feeling pain in your joints etc, I'd back off.
