is P90 more for the beginner w/shorter, less intense work outs? and has anyone had good results?

yes, p90 is more for beginners. unless you're someone that goes to the gym everyday already, p90x might be a bit over your head.

i'm on week 2 of power90, this is the 2nd time i've done it. so far so good...my clothes are fitting better already.

last time i did it, way back in 2000, i lost only about 20 lbs at the end of day 60, but went from a 12 to a size 8.

I was coming here to post this exact question for my dh. We watched the P90x infomercial this weekend. He would love it, but doesn't want to spend the money. We can get power 90 for a lot less. Does Power90 still give good results or would P90X be worth the extra money? He's recently lost 50 pounds and he's in pretty good shape right now, just wants to tone up. Anyone have a recommendation as to which would be better? And if P90X is better is Power 90 still pretty good for the major difference in price?

I did p90x over the summer, I lost about 25 lbs over the 13 weeks and was on an ~1800 calorie diet. I lost a considerable amount of body fat as well and was definitely in the best shape of my life when I got through with it. If anything, p90x only makes you want to take on greater challenges! That and I have a man crush on Tony Horton

Default Both Are Good

Both P90X and P90 are excellent programs...but you can use either program. As Tony says through out all the DVD's "modify, modify, modify". There is even a guy with a prosthetic leg in one P90X DVD!

Everyone told me I couldn't do it because I am overweight. I have over a 100 pounds to lose, and I have multiple sclerosis...and I am doing the program with modifications!

Talk to your doctor first, he is OK with it...go for it and don't listen to anyone discourage you.

I have both, but obviously never stuck them out. If you can get P90 really cheap, go for it. Can you handle doing the same workouts for 90 days? I wouldn't recommend paying the full price for it since it's so basic and you could use the money towards P90X. They both have the same idea picking your own weight and picking your own reps. There are alot of pushups in P90 to prep you for P90X.

For results...I'm starting to become a believer any results are through diet and as long as I'm exercising hard, it doesn't matter what program I'm doing.

based on the information that P90 can be used for beginners, I went ahead and bought it. However, I will not use it for a couple of months as I am doing another program. BTW, how much weight do you use with P90
