When you do exercise videos, do you wear sneakers? i dont, because we dont wear shoes in the house. but i'm starting to think it's a stupid idea not to. i mean, i wear good sneakers when i run, so why not when i exercise at home? what do you guys think?

I wear ballet slippers when doing exercise videos at home. For some reason, I seem to work harder wearing those than sneakers. I think the weight of the sneakers tire me out a bit, whereas the ballet slippers don't. Plus, it is easier on my knees- they don't get sore like they do when I wear sneakers.

I dont like wearing sneakers period. I cant seem to find a pair that makes just walking comfortable. All of the sneakers I have dig into my heels and it really kills my knees. I am working on trying to get into low impact exercise, but currently, the best form of exercise I have is DDR (Dance Dance Revolution) which is actually a video game! I love working out to DDR because its so much fun its no even like I'm exercising at all. Plus, you get to DDR in your bare feet! The mats are too slippery for socks

I do DDR and TaeBo barefoot (traditional kickboxing is always done barefoot).

When I do weight trainging videos, i wear sneakers (just an added level of protection in case I drop a weight on my foot.)

I always wear sneakers, because I'm afraid I'll fall without them, lol..feet and socks are slippery!

I mostly do dance videos, and find that if I wear shoes I can't do some of the moves. My shoes stick on the carpet. So I go bare foot so I can turn better on the carpet.

No Shoes at home... but I work on cushioned "puzzle" matts so that's enough to absorb the shock. I have better control without shoes. I wear shoes only for step viedos (sometimes) and weights (always) so I don't crush a toe!

I do WATP - Walk Away the Pounds and TurboJam barefoot. Only because I do it on the carpet and my sneakers were causing pain in my ankles because I would turn on the carpet and hurt my ankle bc my foot didnt turn when my leg did.

When I started doing aerobics, I went barefoot. But then I started developing the first twinges of plantar fasciitis. Now it is all shoes all the time.

I do wear shoes with step aerobics, otherwise the step hurts the bottom of my feet, and I need the extra support for step aerobics.

No matter what video I'm doing, I prefer to wear ballet flats. I have a pair of Capezio Juliet's that I absolutely adore. They still let my foot move however it needs to, and it's got a split sole on the bottom so I have full contact with the ball of my foot.

I used to do exercise videos at home without shoes, then one day I woke up and I couldn't sit up without intense pain. Ended up going to intensive care and getting a cortisone shot in my back. After that, I had back pain off and on until I went to a chiropractor. My back was xrayed and show that my spine was out of whack. A couple months with the chiropractor left my back feeling pretty good and I haven't had problems since.

I also make sure I always wear good support shoes when I'm doing anything where I need to absorb shock, especially exercising.

One thing I do is have a pair of shoes that is dedicated for indoor exercising. I use them on my elliptical and also when doing exercise videos.

i would recommend shoes even when working out inside. If you are doing any aerobic exercise...you really need the support shoes give you. If not you have potential of develping shin splints, heel spurs etc.

What dance videos are your favorite?

I tend to not wear shoes if working out inside, but I think I have to change that cause my ankle's been hurting me and I think it's cause I'm straining it. ugh.
