This morning I did the 3 mile Walk Slim followed by a few minutes on the treadmill again--I even got to jogging a bit!
I've got a 3 day weekend, so I'm hoping to do a bit extra tomorrow and Saturday so I can do a light day on Sunday (I won't completely skip it, though!)
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!

Way to go jogging on the treadmill Michele!!!! It's amazing how much tougher that is than the jogging WATP but I need a jump start to my metabolism
Mare, you can find loads of Leslie's stuff on ebay for really cheap. Also her website lesliesansone.com has a lot but not the really old stuff.
I did the 4 mile Walk Slim and .5 mile jogging on the treadmill. Since weigh in is tomorrow I'm hoping the week of adding the extra .5 real jogging in will help.

I just started WATP
I just started using these videos because they seemed like something I could actually do without my knees killing me. I've done it for 3 days and my knees don't hurt while I'm doing them. So far I can't do much more than the mile. But I also am on my feet all day so my legs are already tired but this is more actual exercise than I've done in awhile so YEAH. It was finally starting to get nice around here and I was going to get out my bike or walk around town but we just got 8 more inches of snow. So guess I'll wait another week or so to do much outside.

KGOOD!!! The ladies here are wonderful and supportive!! I just restarted back to doing my WATP this past Saturday and that first day I could hardly finish the whole thing, and now it's easier and I've added the 2 pound soft weights. On Wednesday I was able to do the workout with weights a second time that evening, and today I'm doing it 2x again. Tomorrow I'll start with the 2 mile high calorie burn and do it until it becomes too easy, then add weights, until I work my way up to the 3 mile. That's what I love about these workouts is that you can adjust them to yourself and they really do give us a good workout. Well I better get going to do my first 1 mile right now. Have a great Friday everyone!!!

You're doing GREAT, Michelle! Before you know it, you'll be back to 3 miles!
I did the 3 mile Super Fat Burner with the 2 pound soft weights plus the Morning Mile with the same weights! Now, the kids and I are about to spend our day off shopping! I'll get all kinds of pedometer steps done!
Have a great day!
Michele

Hi ladies. Thought I'd check in so you all didn't think I just disappeared or stopped exercising. Well, I have stopped exercising, but not by choice Two weeks ago I heard and felt a nasty pop in my right knee while doing a side-step. But the pain wasn't intense at the time and I finished the work out. Over the next week and a half or so, my knee was a little sore, but nothing I couldn't manage if I was careful with my workouts and wore a knee brace. On Tuesday I was enjoying our last warm day (it was near 70, today it is in the low 30s!!! Brrrr) outside and spent an hour turning part of my compost pile by hand and then ended up chasing after our little dog, Daisy, as she saw a coyote walking down the lane in one of our fields. Shouldn't a dog know not to chase something bigger than it??? This is the dog we took in when my BIL died. As I'm chasing her across the field I could almost hear him say "It's the Beagle in her" and laughing at me running after her By the time I got back in the house I could barely move my knee So I took it easy the rest of the day and hoped it would be better Wed. No such luck. DH insisted I see a doc, so I was able to get an appt. today. Had xrays and nothing is broken. Doctor didn't feel it was ligament related (I didn't either but didn't tell him that before he told me what he thought ) I can feel my kneecap "sliding" at times and it gets stuck and snaps/pops. So he diagnosed me with Patellorfemoral malalignment/pain syndrome and Pes Anserine Bursitis as he felt there was inflammation in the bursa on the inside of my knee and from the pain I was describing when I try to go to sleep at night. So he gave me 5 pages of 15 strengthening and stretching exercises to do and if things aren't better w/i a week or 2 max he'll send me for an MRI to rule out any other possible problems. So.....no WATP for a while But, and this was cool....he and his wife do Leslie Sansone workouts and he loves them and thinks they are a great program and definitely wants to get me back to doing them. The only stipulation is that for a while he doesn't want me doing any side-steps. So, off to try these exercises out for the first time and hope they help me get my knee back in shape asap. I'll try to check in between now and the time I can hit the WATPs again, so keep up the great walking!!

I did 2 miles of the advanced this morning. I used the weights.
I'm really feeling it today. I think I may have to cut back a bit. I'm hurting and it doesn't feel like the "good" workout hurt.

Hi all, I did 2 miles walking and 2 miles jogging, then I did .5 miles real jogging on the treadmill. Geez, that still surprises me how much harder that is.
Tonight is a bad night. Goldilocks, my golden retriever has used up her borrowed time we were told about in February. So DH and I are taking her to the vet this afternoon and having her put to sleep. Exercise this morning wasn't even helpful as I knew this was happening.

Karen, I hope you are better soon.
Oh, Marie, that is so sad. We had to do that about 10 years ago. It hurts!

Karen- just take care and heal. I sprained my right knee this summer and I had six weeks of crutches.I would take my son to summer conditioning camp and then go to Dollar General and walk behind the cart. It was so slow-but it helped.I blew my knee out picking squash. I slipped in the mud.
Do drop in and chat ! I know I will miss you otherwise !
I am sorry to hear about your fur friend, Marie-I know every bit of that extra time that you had with her was special. It's ackward sometimes- even years later for me, that my cats are no longer here. I hope things will somehow feel better soon.
Hey Mare- try to cut back and use water bottles or cans instead.I know that you are excited and want to push forward. Just don't push too hard !
Good Job Michelle !It sounds like you are back on track .
I tried to shop today and it made me nuts ! I need to stick to Tuesday mornings when the little old ladies are out.
And Welcome KGOOD ! I do these not only for my knees but for my arms too.I think that the exercise has helped some of that carpel tunnel I have had off and on.
I did the three mile with strechie this morning and the five mile advanced this afternoon.

Well, I did a 2.5 mile advanced walk this afternoon anyway. I used the weights and the belt. I think I will lay off the weights for a bit. My camper's elbow still hasn't healed completely and I'm probably doing more harm than good to it.

Just an update. Goldilocks is now in heaven where angel doggies go. The only good thing is that she's out of her pain and now with her beloved sister that we had to make that call on 5.5 years ago. So they're together. It gives me some comfort that Goldie has TeddyBear and that Teddy Bear is no longer alone.Very stressful, headache type of evening. I do thank you all for you kind thoughts.
Karen, I hope your knee heals quickly and mare, I tried using weights and it aggravated many old upper body injuries so I stopped. The Fast Firm didn't irritate them though.

Marie, I'm sorry to hear about your dear Goldilocks. I hope that you can click on this link and hope that it makes you feel better. I know it helped me when I lost my Sheltie about 6 years ago.

Anyway, I just wanted to share that with you. Karen

Thank you so much for sharing that with me Karen. That is so beautiful even though it made me start to cry again. It's so hopeful. I really appreciate it. Thank you again.

I did 2 miles of the advanced. 1 was with the stretchie. My elbow is sore but not hurting like it did with the weights. Guess those weights are going to have to wait.
