I'm all for not singing on key! Last year, one of my best friends and I cruised around in her car YELLING christmas carols playing in her tape deck. Had a ridiculously fun time. Even when we didn't know the words we would pull up to the lights singing terribly and people would give us the stangest looks, but that was ok, because we were always having so much fun. It's one of my fondest christmas memories
Coffee ... hot and black!
How am I supposed to run a life with a job like this?
I was booked for 3-11 today. They told me to stay home ... no wait ... you'd better come in ... no wait ... we need you to ward clerk ... no wait ... seniority says you need to work on the floor for 4 hours! Yeesh.
So, yes coffee please. I'll go at 7 and see what the heck they want me to do. Secretly, I wouldn't mind being done at 11 am.
I'll meet ya back here for tea fa la la la la la la la la ....
Oooh, so nice. Mind if I join? I think I will take that overstuff chair with ottoman over there next to the cozy fireplace. I forgot how much I enjoy a good tea break. Irish breakfast is a fave, but for this afternoon, I think I will enjoy some darjeeling in my sweet china cup that I brought in just for the occasion.
I'll try to work my nerve up to join you in a few Christmas songs, but might need to add a splash of liqueur to my tea to fancy me making a quick fool of myself with my singing.
Aaaahhhhh. Just what I need--a nice cup of Irish Breakfast to get away from it all. I don't care where I sit and long as I can unwind a bit.
Yesterday was hectic as all get out. Had to get DD out of school to go to the DMV to get a duplicate of her provisional license. You see, she was scheduled for her behind the wheel driving test at 3:30 and over the weekend she misplaced her permit.....what they didn't explain is you can't just get a new one and go. You have to fill out a new application which means both parents need to sign it before they honor it. Okay, drive and meet hubby half way (thanks to him for doing that!) and back to DMV to get the replacement. We're only half done. Now we need to drive out to the driving school to get her instructor's signature on the new permit. We have just under an hour and I know the round trip takes a little more time that that. Will we make it back in time for her appointment? Yes, we did make it (only 3 minutes late) and off she goes for her 15 minute driving test. Wait, what's this? She's back in less than 5 minutes? Oh, that can only mean one thing....she failed. We're now scheduled to return on the 26th......I only hope she doesn't misplace her new permit (that $26 piece of paper!).
So you can see why I need a nice cup of tea, by the fire. Can someone pass that paper? Oh, on the radio--my favorite carol--Carol of the Bells, can you turn it up a notch, please? Thanks so much!
Oh Susan. I have had a toxic people day too - I feel your pain!
It doesn't help that my director is toxic. I'm usually good at avoidance, but once in a while SOMEBODY is going to get the brunt of SOMETHING and it just somehow ends up being me. .
I think I'll have something a little stronger tonight. Just finished another exam--whew! Now there's only one more exam and that's a take-home to go, so I'm on the downhill slide. Anybody want to gather around the piano for a few Christmas carols?
Morning! I slept well and feel much better this morning. So my regular coffee will be fine.
I'm off to do a good deed at about 7:30. Then I have a couple of must do's around the house, upper body and since it's still mild ... a walk.
As I sit with my Irish Breakfast tea this morning, I ponder how I'll stay warm this evening. DD and I are volunteering at the Band Christmas tree lot from 3-9 PM. It will be COLD! I don't think I own a thermos. How will I survive LOL?
