Morning everyone!

Yesterday was very good for me. Good exercise, good food ... and fig newtons! Oooops!

I'm doing very well with the protein/carb combo mini-meals for BFL. But I'm out of greens! I guess I can buy a salad in the cafeteria -or- I could make do all day and buy greens on the way home from work.

I'm desk clerking today so I'll be able to pop around and see what you all are up to.

Thumbs up

I didnt get to exercise yesterday and I did horrible with my eating. well, actually. I barely ate. I didnt have time for breakfast so I only had a chewy granola bar (choc. chip) and around 4 my boyfriend took me for an early dinner and I had chicken, white rice, and red beans and a few plantains. & a mamey shake. lol. I think that made up alot of calories though.

But... this morning I woke up at 5am and went for a 60 minute walk. threw in a few lunges in there too. I did two sets of 12. I think im going to start doing this everyday so I can get it out of the way.

So far all I've had is a small apple, having breakfast in a little bit.

I was just passing through and saw this. As I don't know what fig newtons are, I googled it and came up with a wikipedia entry http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fig_Newton

And I read this:
Quote:
The US Food and Drug Administration allows for fig paste to have up to 13 insect heads per 100 grams. Most EU nations take a similar view on fig paste bug regulation.
Now, does this help or hinder, SusanB? Are those insect heads disgusting or a handy source of protein??

Btw, they are called fig rolls in Europe. Now I know.

Alrightee then! No more fig newtons for me for a while. Shame because in moderation they are a low fat healthy snack.

I m real excited because I started talking to a skinny little resp therapist at work. I just said, " Your such a skinny, minnie. You look great, how do you do it?" She said she runs, marathons, and turns out we live very close to each other. I was surprised to find out she is close in age to me too, ( I have a few years on her) but because of her size she looks younger. She agreed to start running with me. I don't know why someone with her endurance would want to be slowed down by someone but she didnt hesitate so we will see how it goes. In may we have a 10 mile race every year that is pretty big and she said that would be a reasonable goal for me. I cant committ to that goal in honesty but what i am sure about is for the next few weeks I am going to work like **** to do the best i can do. We will meet up in about a week and i plan on being on the treadmill every day that i am not working.
My eating has not been well but Thanksgiving was the only night in i dont know how long that i have drank wine.
my goal for this week is to continue my abstinence from wine and treadmill every day not working.
I dont want to encourage spam, but does anyone use any over the counters that help with appetite. Last month i took hoodia and it worked for the first few weeks but not anymore. I know i should know better but i researched the brand and i felt it was safe. Thanks, Dee

I tried Thermobol once, it made me feel terrible, so I have an almost-full bottle of the stuff sitting in my desk drawer.

Oh you sweet talker you Say anything! If we know you're around we can cheer you on!

I'm becoming sicker by the week here. I did legs yesterday and my butt is sore! So I went walk/jogging for my cardio today and absolutely adored the ache in my butt! I actually went further than I had planned because it felt so awesomely productive.
Sick, I tell you! We're just sick!
