My sister is pregnant but it may be an etopic pregnancy so she has to have a bunch of testing done. We are hoping for the best. I can't wait to be an aunt!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, happy new year, new resolutions, and new starts!

Well, I was really good the last week while DS was here, worked out every day, and didn't overly indulge, but no losses....however, no gains either. So here we go again!

Found this great exercise for abs in the Feb Oxygen magazine, using a step. It is really tough, and a challenge, but I am determined to make it work. You get into plank position with your hands on the step (with about 2 risers underneath), then walk your hands off to the right onto the floor, then back on the step, then walk them off to the left and back onto the step. You're supposed to work your way up to 30...I managed 5 to each side before collapsing.

Hope you are having a great Jan 2....may all our resolutions come about!

I have to get on the scale and see what damage was done over the holidays, but I'm really kind of scared to. I know that I haven't worked out in two weeks and have eaten everything and anything I wanted. My jeans still fit, so I take that as one good sign. Today is the day I get back on track with eating and exercise. Tina and I have plans to go work out and I will have to do my weights at home starting today. My stomach feels horrible, so it might not be too hard to get back to healthy eating. I also have to drink more water. I have been drinking lots of things over the holidays, but water has not been on the top of the list!

I hope we can all get back to our regular routines now that the holidays are over. I know I am ready to stop feeling so bloated and tired.

Good luck to everyone!

Susan-That sounds like one heck of an exercise! Good for you for being able to do them! I doubt I could do any right now!

cmom-Good for you for still doing some exercise over the holidays, I stopped completly and that wasn't good! Good luck to your sister, hope all goes well.

Tina-Are you ready to get back on track? You might have to push me along, I have no energy! I know that I feel so much better when we work out! I want to feel strong and fit again! We can do it!

Good morning ladies! How is everyone doing this week? Well Cindy and I made it to the gym yesterday and although at first it was a bit painful leaving my nice warm house I felt really good once I was done. I find it hard to get back into the groove after taking breaks but each day I am going to try and enforce a healthy behavior and pretty soon it will be natural to me again. I don't know why the holidays do us in so badly but they do don't they? Anyway yesterday food wise was not great but I am going to really try to focus on moving on and not getting stuck in a negative frame of mind. I am going to try my best to make good choices today and see how it goes. Cindy and I are hitting the gym again tonight and today I am actually looking forward to it.

Susan glad your visit with your son went nice! I will have to try that new ab workout in a few weeks when I have worked my body back to some normalcy! Have a good day!

Jen I hope all goes well with your sister! Glad to hear your back on the wagon! Have a good day!

Cindy well we didn't die last night so that is a plus right....we can so do this we just have to get back to our old habits and kick some butt. Come on now I don't want to look like I did on the beach last year!!!!!!! See you tonight!

Well, I faced my fear and found out I gained 5lbs. I guess that's not too bad but I'll have to work hard to catch up to where I was before. Well, now I know for sure that I need to get back to my healthy ways and get back on track!

Cindy, sorry to hear about the weight gain....just remember you are not alone in having this happen...we are all in the same boat.

Decided that this year I am not going to look at the scale very often, so I have gotten it out of sight and away from easy checking. I find that if I've lost, I tend to overeat, and if I've gained I get discouraged, so I am going to try to rely on my clothes.

I've been doing my cardio every day....woke late yesterday so went into the gym in the evening...boy is the noise level loud! I would think it would be considered noise pollution level. The morning, like today, is much nicer, with no pounding music, and less clanking of weights. I'm trying to get in between 375-450 of calories burned every day, around 45 minutes of various cardio machines. here's hoping it works. This is the second week of being really focused....tho' last week my eating was not great.

Hope everyone has a good day!

olie olie in come free!!!......Hi girls!!!! Just had to pop in and wish everyone a Happy New Year. I too have to kick myself into gear and get going with getting OP. Thankyou for all the shout outs and hello's. Work is so busy, I can't believe my schedule....so much for a reduced work week. This week I have 39 hours and I work 6 out of the 7 days!!! I have to apologize for being MIA, work and (some of you will know) the RANGE of emotions that perimenopause brings......I am having the hardest time with sleeping and with crying jags. I've spoken with my dr. and we are 'working' on it. First step was some mild sleeping pills to help me sleep and they seem to be working wonders.... So I am here in spirit and cheering all of you on!!!! Hopefully I will be able to find the time for me soon

Hello! Well, I had my weigh in on Friday and I did lose 2 lbs. So, hopefully this extra weight won't be too hard to take off. After this super busy weekend of taking down all my decorations and cleaning up all the toys, etc, I think I got in some extra cardio!

angel-Glad to hear from you! I don't know how you work those hours. And hang in there with the premenopause stuff, when my mom went through that it was rough for a while, but she also worked with her dr and she's back to her normal happy self now. Hope you can find what works for you!

Susan-Good for you with all the cardio! Hope you have another good week this week!

Tina-Here's hoping we have a good week with eating well and getting in some good workouts! Keep on me with my weights, I really want to do them this week but for some reason they're really easy for me to blow off!

cmom-How's it going?

Hope everyone has a great week!!!

hi all...just a quick checkin. Didn't work out this weekend, but went for a great hike on Saturday....it was 73 here and balmy....beautiful sunny day. Glorious! Did a good 45 sweaty minutes this am on the elliptical. Have ordered the book the Sonoma Diet, have heard good things about it. Hope to get it by the end of the week.

Angel, so glad you checked in.....sorry to hear your hours are still so long...are you getting to do any dancing?

Good morning ladies! How was everyone's weekend? Mine was spent taking down decorations and getting my house back in order after the holidays. I think now that my house is back in order it is time for my body to get back in order. I pulled out my notebook and plan to start recording my meals and begin calorie cycling again. I also plan on getting faithful with my weights and cardio. I did my weights already this morning and it felt good to feel my muscles working. I have some time before spring/summer hit and I want to focus on hitting my goal weight by then. So starting today healthy eating, water, exercise, those are top on my list.

Angel so glad you could stop in for a Hello.... Those hours sound draining but I give you a big Bravo for sticking with it. Sorry to hear you have not been feeling well. I swear sometimes I think being a women is a curse. Hang in there though and stuff will start getting better. Check in again soon!

Susan a hike sounds wonderful. It has been really mild hear also weather wise it kinda scares me but I am not wishing for cold or snow. Good job on the elliptical...that was a great workout. You will have to let us know what the Sonama Diet is. Is it low-carb? Hope you have a good day!

Cindy- Okay girl we have to kick some serious butt this week. I have the bet with Kev and two date weekends coming up so I need to get serious. I along with you are sick of feeling like this...I want to be there this Spring. Maybe we need to plan a shopping trip to Lighthouse Mall to motivate us. See you tonight!

My butt is still hurting it will take some time for it to get used to the exercises again (I wish I never stopped them over the holidays). School is back in ,well yesterday was supposed to be the first day but it got cancelled (storm day) so the older 2 girls are at school and my house seems quiet, well taht is until my little man doesn't get his way lol. Now that I have started my other stuff back up my cardio is harder but still getting in 30 mins (it was 45-60) I'll have to build myself back up.
The hubby's appointement with the specialist is this Friday the kids also have blood work (wish me luck a 2 and 3 year old with blood work hopefully the 9and 8 year olds will set a good example)

Cindy ~good job on the 2 lbs I only lost 1 but it is 1 less I have to fight with now lol

Hi all! Just finished trying a new workout dvd which had lots of good ideas for me to incorporate into my training with people. Can't wait to try them.

Have been pretty good...did my cardio yesterday and today, have been eating well, and feeling good. Just got the Sonoma diet book....evidently it's basically the Mediterranean diet....very sensible, eating the right foods, limiting portions....and what I really like....allows a glass of wine most days and occasional dark chocolate. I believe it was written by a dietician/nutritionist...can't remember, will have to read more.

CMom, hope DH's tests come out ok.

Tina, glad you are feeling positive about things....Cindy, yahoo on the weight loss. You two are so lucky to have each other for support.

Angel, hope you check in again soon. I hope Stephanie is doing ok....she must be super busy with her new job.

Have a great few days!

The test were great. He came back negative ~which means he "barele has it". he has to be monitore over the next year, he will also be tested every 6 months for a year then once a year. There is a chance that he will never test positive again. Some people when they contract this virus their body is able to fight it and keep it in check but because it mutates as soon as the body almost has it gone, so he will never get rid of it (unless they find a vaccine). The good news is NO liver damage and the doc says he will most likely never get sick. He also said that because I tested negative I should be able to proceed with surrogacy but the surrogact doc I was dealing with thinks I am too big of a risk factor, but I did find out that a healthcare profesional is more likely to get it then me.

Hello! Well, weigh in was good on Friday. I lost two pounds. So one more to go and I'll be back to my pre holiday weight and that will be a good feeling. I hope I can have a good week of exercise and trying my best to eat well. My oldest son turns 13 on the 18th and my second oldest son turns 8 on the 19th, so it won't be a great week for super healthy eating with all that cake around!

cmom- Great news on DH's test results!

Susan- Sounds like you're on a good roll!

Tina- Let's see what we can do in the next three days, because that's all the time I have for workouts this week. I did do my weights already today, so that's one good thing...I hope I can get going a little better on that elipical this week!
